I had the most wonderful experience getting a new look at the Clinique counter! The girl who helped me was Chiara Pearling. She was very helpful and knowledgable. She made sure that I knew exactly the correct way to apply what I bought and did not try to talk me into things I did not need. I really appreciated her kind way and expertise. more

Carson's 5/3/2006

Although I never really had a strong opinion of Carson Pirie Scott, having dealt more with its sister store Bergners, I have yet to be impressed by the quality or price of their merchandise. My wife, an avid bargain hunter, loathes this place, claiming it's poorly organized and overpriced. After spending close to hour helping her locate a plain white blouse without an associate in sight makes me think she might not be too far off. For the most part, you can find similar stock at Sears, Macy's, or Marshall Field's, but at least there you get what you pay for. more

Good carsons great clearance 3/17/2006

Carsons here at Yorktown mall is a good Carsons. It is a great place to get a suit or slacks, dress pants, khakis for men. Their shoe dept. is also good. When they have their clearance stuff you can get really good shirts for cheap. I picked up some suggested 90$ shirts for 15$ the other day. People have said they look great. But guess what, it matters not what people say.. I like them. So in essence come here and find some good clothes for yourself. more

Overpriced clothing 1/29/2006

I am overall unenthralled by this Carson's, but that is mostly because I haven't figured out what the big deal is with this chain. I find the stores confusing and not well organized (it took me twenty minutes to find a plain Oxford button-down shirt), and the employees don't seem very knowledgeable. On several occasions with gift cards, the employee told us that they couldn't tell how much money was left on the card. When comparing that response to other major chains (Famous Barr, Macy's) where you can swipe your gift card and find out its balance at any number of kiosks, I don't see any reason to frequent Carson's. We managed to find a way to spend our gift cards, but I don't see us shopping there with any regularity now. more
