Carrington College

I wish I could give this school a negative star. I attended this school through Voc Rehab (program for Veterans.) The thing that was so weird to me was that even though my school is paid for, they forced me to apply for financial aid. If I didn't apply for it, I would lose my seat that they "reserved" for me. They ( financial aid department ) kept telling me it was for my benefit. I agreed with them. But after you get approved for grants and students loans, they have to touch the check before you can, and if you want to follow up on the status , they will get an attitude and talk to you like you are personally begging them for money. They will not assist you in any way after you are in the program. I would talk about the professors, but that would take another rant. The bottom line is this, this is a school for profit. The only thing they want is your money. After they get it, you are not important. If you go to this school after reading this, I don't know what to tell you. more

WASTE OF MONEY!! The staff is as helpful as can be when getting you into the school. But once classes start your on your own. i FAILED the same course TWICE but a % or 2. i did private tutorings with the teacher and other students and i still failed. i tried getting help from previous students and still failed. Everything you learn in lecture is not the same as the material in the actually TEST. And 5 other students FAILED for the second time AS WELL. WHAT IS THAT? WORST EXPERINCE EVER.WASTE OF MONEY as well. students as transferring out to other schools. EVEN the smartest seem to fail.better off going to another school!!!! worst education ever more

I went to this school when it opened and many departments were not even satffed yet, and I can say that through the 2 years I was there all the satff including the upeer management were very helpful in solving any of the issue I had or others in my class. I did not originally beleive I would ever be able to affrod to actually complete a nursing program, I had bad credit, Bills, and even prior student loans. The satff not only helped me to get financial aid loans but also helped me to obtain a scholarship that paid my entire tuition and guarenteed a job when I finished as long as I made the effort and became a licensed RN. Well, I went through and finsihed and my gradepoint average was not the best in my class, but I am an RN working in ICU in Texas for the people who provided the scholarship and who by the way also trained me for six months in ICU after graduating, and my life is completely changed. I am finally obtaining the goals I wanted in my life, Good credit, a house, and satisfaction of knowing that merit and hard work pays off even for those of us who have made mistakes in our lifes in the past. So i can only tell you my real experince with this school and it has changed my life for the better. if you are looking to change your life you cold do a lot worse. The staff is very nice and helpful until you actually start school; then the service is worse than a public high school. The admin staff will treat you like you are teenager and and idiot. They will not help you in a timely manner and the teachers don't help you learn. Many tests are not even on the material presented in lecture. And you are paying a lot for this lousy education. STAY AWAY!! more
