I was looking for some interesting skirts for a costume I am putting together for Burning Man. (I am also a dancer but this trip is for doing a fun costume). I thought maybe a TuTu but wasn't sure how it would look or the colors that would be available. I live on the West side and this store closes at 5:30 during the week and 4 on Saturday - just not the longer hours I need to drive across town and shop - but I called ahead and asked if they could stay long enough to make it worth the trip out on a Saturday afternoon. They said they would and when I got there they didn't rush me and they showed me all sorts of things that might just work for me.
I discovered I don't look good in a Tu-Tu at my age and figure - but there were other options for a middle age women that were fun and flattering. There was a nice selection of petty coats (I got one in lavender that is calf length) and chiffon handkerchief skirts like belly dancers use (I got one in dark purple) and several jingly hip scarves that belly dancers use (turquoise, lime green, hot pink) so that should be fun. But as I was concentrating on my costume mission I also noticed they had other dance wear for grown ups - square dancing outfits, pants, dance shoes, etc that I might want to come back and check out.
The prices seemed reasonable to me, especially since I got to try the pieces and see the actual color in person whereas internet shopping doesn't allow you to do that and any price savings usually gets eaten up with shipping costs not to mention the cost of returning things by mail.
So I just want to thank them for staying late to give me a chance to come and shop and for the great customer service.
