Editorial review from Citysearch 1/15/2015

My Swiss mountain dog fell down the steep stairs at my grandmothers house and hurt his back. I was so impressed with the care he was given. They took him up to birmingham in a private car for extensive X-rays and MRIs, completely sedated with pain medication of course. They worked vigorously and overnight for 2 days to help my big baby. I've never received such thoughtful and thorough care from a vet and staff before! more

They are the gold standard 11/8/2014

They have seen my "Old Girl" through scabies, rattlesnake bite, spodylosis, and emergency surgery. They aren't cheap but they're worth every penny. How would you feel if you knew you sacrificed your loyal friends health to save a few fleeting dollars? They're caring too. They performed emergency surgery on my old girl even when they knew I was unemployed and couldn't pay up front. They worked with me on terms and price. When it counts there is NO other choice. The decision is easy. more

Salter Ann Allen Dvm - Carriage Hills Animal Hospital is AWESOME!!! 12/30/2009

I will not take my animals anywhere else!!! The staff and doctors were absolutely FABULOUS, kind, courteous, caring and understanding. Everybody there called me by name and followed up to take care of us emotionally after we lost our "baby". They gave her the finest care and Drs. Salter, Van Hooser, Griffin, and Welch, Wendy. Lee, Mary and all of the others there were the best for us! more

Carriage Hills Animal Hospital does not care 7/4/2009

On two occasions I have left my Cocker Spaniel to be groomed and he was not ready by requested time. Last time he was not bathed until time I asked to pick him up, I even boarded him so he would be there on time. When I called back to complain I was told I would get a call from owner, still waiting! more

Horrible Do not Recommend 9/5/2008

The Dr. royaly messed up my dogs ears during a simple ear cropping- The reason I know is because I had it examined by another vet. The woman Dr. that works here is also very rude If your new to town or looking for a good vet this is not the place did I mention they gave me estimates twice that were both off by $100!! They cater to the rich not the working person. more

A Wonderful Place for a Pet! 10/31/2007

What more could you ask for? Warm, caring staff, competent doctors that take their time with their clients and are genuinely caring. A clean, bright environment. They always worked us into the schedule. The prices are reasonable and affordable. This includes the pet resort which we used extensively when out of town. As our pet aged they provided much support and when our pet died they were sympathetic in our time of sorrow. We couldn't ask for more. more

Wouldn't trust my animals to anyone else 10/28/2007

You can tell the staff at Carriage Hills Animal Hospital truly cares about the well-being of animals. They are courteous, caring, and go out of their way to make sure your animals are healthy and happy. I take my pets exclusively there for veterinary care and boarding/grooming and have yet to have a less-than-excellent experience. more

Saving my little pug.... 10/27/2007

I was distraught one day when I returned home from work to find my usually hyper pug lying under the table not greeting me. I offered him food and he still didn't eat which had never happened before. I immediately called the 24 hour line and talked with Dr. Van Hooser who told me to meet him at the clinic...it was 8:30 p.m.\r \r \r Thanks to the dedication of the vet himself and his staff, my dog overcame a bout of pancreatitis which could have been fatal if the doctor had not met me after hours. Although extremely expensive, I now have my healthy, active pug back. more

Pet Hospital 10/22/2007

Not pleased with service I received for my pets. I changed my veternarian immediately after my dog was operated on. They were too busy to help ordinary customers and wanted to only help the wealthy patrons. more

Their care makes sense 10/19/2007

After a terrible experience with another vet (we were new to town) we kenneled our dog with Carriage Hills. They were polite, understanding and didn't attach any "unseen" fees to their initially quoted price. What a relief to find a trustworthy place to take care of our "other child" in a new area. more

Carriage Hill Animal Hospital 10/18/2007

I am so proud to say that I use this group of Vets and tech. My dog had to have emergency back surgery while we were on vacation. I could have been more panicked that I was. "Dr Van" explained everything to me and it was a much more reassuring process than it could have been. My hats off to all the staff!! more

Awesome veterinary care! 10/17/2007

We've been taking our terrier to Carriage Hills since we moved to Montgomery. The staff are very friendly and take great care of our dog.\r \r Our dog was injured one evening just before business hours ended. I called expecting to ask about an emergency vet but they told me to bring my dog in even though they were closed. They took great care of her!\r \r I highly recommend Dr Scott Griffin and his staff! more

You get what you pay for.... 10/12/2007

I've been taking my dogs to Carriage Hills since they were puppies. The vets are very knowledgeable and helpful. They talk to you in terms you can understand. They are patient and caring. I also use them for the resort area. They have a very nice facility. They are expensive, but it's worth the peace of mind. more

nice pet resort 4/17/2007

The prices may be high, but the service is worth it.. What I really like about this place is that the staff treat the animals like their best friends..\r Our Polar had to stay in for a day what he heated but the friendly staff took care of him well. more

Teacher 4/12/2007

The vets and all the staff are friendly and want to make sure the owner feels comfortable with any procedures or meds given to the pet. My underweight Maltese puppy was checked every 2 weeks for several months just to be sure he was progressing as he should. They even trimmed his nails for me as a courtesy! The vet taught me how to crate train him and use Alpha dog techniques to insure his obedience. They are great! more
