For my birthday, my girlfriends decided to take me to a bar for appetizers before a night on the town. We were completely surprised to find that the bar was closed on a Monday night. While trying to figure out what to do, we noticed Carpe Diem was down the street and headed over to check out the appetizer menu. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that they were running half price appetizers until a certain point in the evening. i had always heard that they were a pit pricey so half price appetizers are considered a good thing. The appetizer menu was fabulous. No chicken fingers or potato skins for this place. We were able to choose from a fantastic cheese plate (St. Andre and daily cheese served with pears, grapes, dried fruit, crackers, cornichons, and a carmelized onion-garlic compote) , Cremini Mushroom Tart \r
, calamari, Mediterranean plate (grilled chicken kabobs, lemon hummus, olives, and grilled pita bread ), Thai Beef Carpaccio and a few other goodies that I can't remember.
