As a patient it is not a safe clinic, I think ethical employee is right. Go somewhere else, somewhere clean and professional this is your body. What is you worth? Pros: null ...

Unprofessional 1/10/2011

Unprofessional!! I dont think that this clinic is at all what the last reviews talk about. The chairs in the waiting room are dirty and they tell you to sit there with your undies off, the tvs do not even work properly, the staff smoke with the patients, but they tell you not to eat, drink, smoke before coming but they dont care about smoking. The counseling lady smelled like she was a cigarette herself. And when it was my turn to have the abortion I laid in the room showing my privates with all the doors opened. It was horrible. The doctor was rude. He didnt even want me to speak during the abortion. The only time I felt relax was when I check in and when I left that place. I will never return. I felt like I had done something illegal. more

Fantastic Clinic Private and Secure 1/10/2011

I had an abortion performed here Saturday. The doctor and the assistants were fantastic. Before the procedure, the counselor answered all my questions and did not judge me. I made a hard decision and she helped me work through all options. The clinic was cleaner than any ER I have ever been in. I had some discussions with the other women in the same situation and it was helpful to have this discussion with other women going through the same experience. I hate the position I put myself in but at the end of the day, this clinic helped me through the toughest day of my life. I recommend these folks to anyone finding themselves in my position. Thank you all! more

Caring and Private Abortion Service 1/7/2011

I just had a abortion at this clinic. The staff were so understanding and nice. After worrying about doing this for some time, I made the trip to Carolina Center for Women. My doctor recommended it and she was right. I paid a little extra for a private procedure which was fantastic. I just didn't want to see other people at this time. The clinic was spotless and the doctor and nurses were so nice. They answered all my questions and were not judgemental at all. The lady counselor made everything clear and did not try to sway my decision in either direction. I recommend this clinic to anyone. more

Bad Experience 12/19/2010

When I arrived last Wednesday I was very nervous but everyone was very nice until I was called in to a lab room so they could prick my finger. As I was sitting there waiting the lab tech that pricked my finger was discussing with a white girl that the doctor doesn't like obese girls and they were giggling not caring I was still in the room with them. I was very uncomfortable just hearing that. I weigh 200+ could I be obese? I wanted to leave but I knew I had to get this done. After sitting and waiting it was my turn and I was called into a room where I would have my abortion. I felt shamed when I saw the physician. I would never return to this clinic or refer my friends. If you are "obese" or heavy set DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC. They discriminate. more

my experience at the womens clinic 7/18/2010

When i first arrived at the womens clinic to have the abortion procedure done everyone was so nice and welcoming despite the nasty protestors outside. But once they call you back and the whole 4 hr process begins it just went down hill...the 1st thing they do is take u back and ask u a list of questions about past pregnancys, miscarriages, abortions, etc. Then you wait in another area and they call u back to do the lab work. Then you go to another waiting area where they have you and all the other 20 or more girls and explain the process. Then they call you back 2 at a time to go in a dressing room and put on a hospital gown. After doing so u go down the hall and have to wait another hour or 2 with the same 20 girls half dressed for the process to be done. It was very akward ur already nervous and you just feel exsposed. Then they call you back one by one to have the actual procedure done. When they called me back they left both doors open hacked my gown all the way up and i was trying to cover myself up somewhat and the doctor and nurses just kept telling me not to worry about it dont try and cover up so there i was all exsposed from my waist down with the doors wide open having the biggest most embarrising procedure that i'd ever had done performed on me. The actual abortion its self only lasted about 5 mins but that was the worst 5 mins of my life. Then they took me to the "recovery room" where your sitting with all the girls again half dressed. Where they take your blood pressure give you your baggie of pills & get dressed and send you out the door. I strongly wouldnt recommend the womens clinic to anyone. It was very unpleasant. Pros: the were informative when u first get there Cons: no privacy more

Professional and Caring 1/12/2010

I was extremely nervous the night before about getting an abortion, but everyone at the Center was extremely friendly and caring. They made a completely unpleasant experience as pleasant as possible. They were extremely informative about the procedure, as well as what would happen after. Be prepared to be there for the 4 hours that they say, bundle up if you get cold easily (layers are the best), and be prepared for it to be group oriented. You will be around a lot of women. Although I didn't care to really talk to anyone, it was somewhat comforting to know other people were going through the same thing. more

Very highly recommended 7/30/2009

I visited this facility on July 18 to undergo an abortion. I was scared to death and expected the worst. I've heard soo many horror stories about how these clinics treat you, but the Carolina Center for Women was very professional and caring. All the staff treated me with respect and concern. Although this was a trying time for me, the staff consoled me and showed great concern! Pros: Caring staff Cons: none more

new to charlotte 9/4/2008

On the day of my scheduled appointment at this facility, I called 30 minutes prior to the set time to inform the doctor that my fiance and I would be 15 minutes late (we just moved to Charlotte 3 days ago and had trouble finding the facility). I was told by the receptionist that this was fine because all patients were given a 15 minute grace period. My fiance and I arrived at the facility at the projected time, only to be told by the same receptionist (via the doctor) that services could not be administered. I asked the receptionist why she told me it was okay to come within the grace period if the appointment could not be honored. She apologized profusely, but could give no reasonable explanation whatsoever. There were no other patients in the office and the doctor never even gave us the courtesy of a face-to-face explanation regarding why we had been misinformed. Further, we were told that the doctor could not set another appointment for nearly 11 days because she would be out more
