Between my boyfriend and I, we have two hamsters, two tarantulas and three cats. \r
\r
One of the tarantulas we got elsewhere for about $70 (This includes spider, tank, filler soil, crickets, and waterdish.) It was a Costa Rican Stripe Knee which is a very docile common breed for spiders in captivity. However we went to Carolina Pet Supply found a much more advanced captive breed the Cobalt Blue Tarantula. This spider is rather aggressive and most retailers in general wont carry exotic pets like spiders and definitely those that would, wouldn't carry this bred. We got this spider ling and setup in wonderful condition for $50. They also had a Brazilian Black and white we had our eyes on... :)\r

I got both my hamsters here and am very pleased with them. They have deals all the time. I got my home for my hamsters and got one of the hamsters free. At Petsmart hamsters start at 10.99 here they are all 7.99 and free with a purchase of a cage or home. \r
\r
Their prices are unbeatable and they are so friendly and knowledgeable. They have a wide range of everything. From the traditional cat and dog supply to fish fresh and salt alike, reptiles, spiders, birds, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, ferrets and much more. \r

I've read the other reviews especially the negative ones...they are completely untrue. The worst thing I can say about the place is when it's closing time they like to go home right away just like every other person who has had a long day at work. I'd much rather take that one little con over things at Petsmart like clueless employees, basic supplies at outrageous prices, and no variety. Carolina Pet Supply may not have the square footage of Petsmart but they are wonderfully clean and helpful. I don't go anywhere else.
Pros: great specials, variety and good quality, helpful and nice employees, exotic pet collector paradise
Cons: know what you want or where it is near close time otherwise you will get shooed if you are ""just looking""
