Editorial review from Citysearch 2/3/2014

My wife and I have taken both cars to them going on 8 years. We also have several neighbors who take their cars there. Their repair and service work is outstanding. The owner, Craig Gelston, is a great guy. He's very friendly and service oriented. I drive a Subaru Outback and it doesn't hurt that the mechanic who works on my car also owns a Subaru. Highly recommended. more

Best service around 8/30/2006

Carolina Import Works is a family name around here. Craig and his team have worked on all of our cars. You always know you are getting an honest quote and services performed are what you need with no fluff. I recently moved back to the area and purchased a very used car that I have wanted for some time now. My husband and I did not make the purchase until we moved back because we knew Carolina Import Works was down the road if we needed them. I highly recommend this place! Pros: Honest, great prices, keep the customers informed Cons: Location more

Work based on HONESTY, INTEGRITY and EXPERTISE! 5/30/2006

My car was in serious trouble, his shop fixed it and now even years later I have had no problems. I am thankful that my car did fail on me and that he was there in the beginning because a long lasting friendship with him was an added bonus. You will not meet ANY other shop owner as genuine and respectful as Craig. He gives advice pertaining to your vehicle inquiries, and most importantly does only the work that is NEEDED to be done only after informing you of the source of your vehicle's problem. I know your vehicle(s) will be in good hands at his shop. Meet him, and you'l just know, it just ""feels right"" the moment you begin to talk with him that you came to the right place. Pros: An honest shop., Kept informed., Quality work! more

Times are changing...cars are changing. One of the biggest changes in today's automotive industry is the perception of a "tune-up." Ask 10 vehicle owners their definition of a tune-up and chances are there'll be 10 different answers. classic "tune-up" was once the heart of the automotive business and contrary to some beliefs; today's modern vehicles still need tune-ups to keep them performing at the most efficient levels. The tune-up was historically associated with the routine replacement of key ignition system parts like spark plugs and ignition points, along with some basic adjustments to help "tune" the engine. Mounting pressure for increased fuel economy and and lower emissions drove the car manufacturers to adopt electronics and to do away with ignition points in the '70s,along with the carburetor in the middle '80s. This eliminated the need for the replacement and adjustment of a growing number of ignition and fuel system parts. As the pace of technology quickened, the procedures required to perform a traditional tune-up changed dramatically. Highly sophisticated
