Carolina Crossroads is right across the street from UNC-Chapel Hill, and is frequented by professors. There is a large bar/casual food area, in addition to a more formal dining room. The fare is expensive, but great quality. The buffet could keep you from getting hungry all day, and ranges from salads and sandwiches to hot entrees. The atmosphere is very elegant. Although it is expensive, you can save money on parking because eating there comes with a validation for parking in an area where spots are scarce.
