This iconic eatery is a regular weekend stop for us. The friendly staff keeps the place clean, and they work through the longest of lines like a machine! The taste of the chili can vary, from a mellow mole' flavor to the greasiest of hangover foods, but when added to a burger, it opens a new vista on fun food. Special orders are de rigeur: onions, no pickle, add cheese, pickle on the side, etc. Awesome hot dogs in several varieties satisfy nearly all palates. \r

Any food I eat while making ""yummy happy kitty"" noises rates pretty high on any list, and this place is a weekly mmmmmmmmmyumgmmymmm! Plus, you can watch the world go by, wave at curious tourists in their buses, eavesdrop on interesting conversations, and trade amazed stares with some pretty cute kids! \r

Right on the Sunset Strip, this place has excellent off street parking. Leaving can be a problem, if LAFD has parked in the red zone in front of Carney's. If firetrucks are not at the curb, wait for a break in the traffic and rocket to the 'suicide lane'. Easy!\r

Locking restrooms with hot water, plenty of 'napkins', usually good tunes on the muzak, happy hour specials, and hunger satisfied for hours make this place a must visit!\r

They deliver in the area, can have small to medium size parties for birthday or after practice, with a nice outside seating area. Toddler high chairs are available, and the ramp to get in from the rear parking area is easy to walk up.\r

Cheese paper has NOTHIN' over chili paper!
Pros: ample rear parking, fun for the kids, variety on menu
Cons: turning left onto Sunset when leaving
