Great Italian (and worth every penny) 12/7/2005

Il Terrazzo Carmine is the best Italian that I have had in Seattle. The pastas are great (excellent carbonara), the appetizers are tasty (take a peek at the appetizer bar as you enter), the entrees are delicious (my favorite is the veal scaloppine-- tender, excellent flavor and light sauce), and the service is good (I'm talking career waiters here -- they dole out the appetizers so that nothing goes to waste). The prices are expensive but worth it for the quality of food that you get ($15 for a full plate pasta, $25 for an entree). The crowd is a bit older. This is definitely a great place to take the parents or relatives when they are in town. more

The oldest and the best italian in seattle 11/23/2005

move over olive garden and bucca. Il Terrazzo was one of seattle's first 'top tier' restaurants, you know, the kind you'd take someone from NY or SF out to, to show them that we're not all about clam chowder and salmon cakes up here in southwest canada. the service is top notch and the veal chop is 'to die for'. it's a little on the pricey side, but not overly ridiculo like some of the other newer, trendier places. You definitley can get out of there for under $50 a person, assuming of course you don't buy $100+ bottles of vino. Il Terrazzo could hold up against anything in NYC or SF so go there and check it for yourself. andiamo! more

Best Italian food in Seattle 8/17/2005

Carmine's has hands down the best italian food in seattle. it is a white tablecloth type restaurant that serves classic Italian food at its best. always crowded but I never see any advertising. its a bit hard to find where its located so must be word of mouth that gets all the people into the restaurant. Great for a special evening or lunch event more
