The Carlton Grill is a gem in the rough. It includes three distinguishing cultures for the palettes enthusiast under one roof. It incorporates California Cuisine with sushi, pizza and the the surf and turf mentality but in a sophisticated but casual way. It is a place the whole family can enjoy from children to the adults without having to compromise for the children's sake with their simple tastes up to the teen slightly more sophistication to the adult trained in textures and taste. This restaurant has the mentality that no is never an option. If it is not on the menu they will make of for you if you give the guidance and if the ingredients are not in the restaurant then one of the waiters or waitresses or other staff will even go across the street to make the child's wish come true with a jack in the box children's order and brought to the table for that child to enjoy their meal along side the parents and the teen ordering the pizza they want and baked to order with the toppings specified and the parents one ordering steak and fish while the other orders the very fresh sushi made on site. It is a treasure to find a place with such a variance on the menu where everyone can find something they like.
In was also very impressed that they do not charge for an extra plate. I have had the gastric bypass surgery and do not eat much, I will go out to eat with my husband and 9/10 times we will share the meal as one whole meal is also too much for him too. The staff was friendly courteous and refilled your beverage without being too in your face. It was done quietly and discreetly. It was also a place where you walk in shorts and t-shirt or dressed to the nines. You were treated the same without someone sneering down their nose that one was better than the other.
The prices are very reasonable as well. My husband and I ordered ice tea for him and I had ice water with lemon, an appetizer, entrée, and a desert with the tip included came to roughly dollars. I was amazed at the amount of food as well as the proportion on the dessert. It was not a tiny sliver and you are charged 7 dollars for 4 bites. the apple pie was homemade and it was like a quarter of the pie and it was about 1 and half inches tall. it came with not one small scoop but 2 of the most yummy and light rich homemade vanilla ice cream hand churned to keep the fluffy airy and rich flavor that melted in your mouth creating an explosion of orgasmic wonders that were of biblical proportions.
In rate this place with 5+++ starts. Superb in a small city cozy elegance of Buckingham palace but the prices of carrows and then a bit more on top but not much different.
