After a movie last night, my sister and her boyfriend, and my husband and I stopped at Carlos O'Kellys. The sign outside the building stated that the bar was open until midnight. We thought that was perfect because it was almost 11 and we just wanted a few drinks before heading home. We walked in and two blonde woman came scurrying up to the front desk. One womans said to us, "So, do you think you can decide what you want in like 2 minutes?" The other woman stated, "We're shuttin' down." My husband said, "Oh, we just wanted to sit at the bar." The first woman said, "We close at 11". My husband said, "Oh, your sign says the bar is open until midnight." The first woman stated, "We just changed our hours." No apology that their signage was wrong or that she was extremely rude. I told her thank you and we left. We will not be returning. We went down the street to a GREAT place with great food, unbelievable drink specials, a great atmosphere, and even better service .. Broadway Bar and Pizza. The bartender at Broadway Bar and Pizza acted like she was happy to see us - completely opposite to the - how dare we believe their signage and come into their establishment to ruin the staff's night greeting that we recieved at Carlos O'Kelly's. I used to frequent Carlos O'Kelly's for lunch dates, but not anymore. I've found a new place where the staff treats strangers like friends. Thanks to the two hostile blondes at COK whose exasperated greeting led us to the discovery of Broadway Bar and Pizza.
