Great food and atmosphere, feels like Argentina! 6/6/2005

If you've never been at this restaurant, you're missing out on a lot! One of the only few in Los Angeles that is family owned, run, operated, and makes you feel like you are also part of the family, especially on weekends when the mother takes off her apron and becomes the host. Tango, flamenco, exceptional musicians that play traditional music while the food is being served by very caring wait staff. In other words: I'm Italian, and I know food and serveice very well, and I rarely make exceptions on Italian food, but I do everytime I want to have an amazing steak, I go to Carlitos Gardel. GOING OUT TO EAT 6/5/2005

Very full menu, and everything we tried was really fresh and so uniquely tastey. The steaks are comparable to the best and most expensive in the city. The wine list is really good, and when we asked for assistance on Argentine wines the sommelier was very helpful and caring in guiding us to a good priced, hearty red wine from Mendozas. WOW!!!!!! I feel in love with this charming restaurant. EVERYTHING tastes so fresh, even the tomatoes tasted amazing!!!!!! The Steaks were soooooo flavorful, so tender, and sooooo BIG. Not really enough to share, because I wanted to finish it all myself!!! The waiter was really knowledgable about Argentina and even recommended places to go on a visit there. The Food is to die for!! 8/15/2004

One of the best chicken dishes I have ever tasted. The filet mignon with marsala sauce was exquisite, along with the empanada and shrimp appetizer. The decor is very lovely and quite romantic. We heard there was to be a live singer or guitar player, but we left before then. Typical of many restaurants, it was a bit small, so louder customers are heard easily, but do not have that deter you! Simply order the chicken and be lost in a cavalcade of tastes! This place is fantastic. The food was delicious, the portions were large, the staff was kind and accomodating, and the live music was soothing. I had the skirt steak and was only able to eat less than 1/2 of it -- so I had plenty to take home. Be sure to bring an appetite. Try the garlic/parsley french fries -- and don't miss the stuffed mushrooms. Pros: Great Food, Stuffed Mushrooms Cons: Pricey, but worth it more

Best Steaks in the city 8/6/2002

This cozy Argentine Steak house offers the best steaks in town. From the marinated Rib Eye, to the Stuffed New York Steak, of course with a side of Garlic french fries. The service was outstanding and the wine list was amazing. Truly a classy restaurant. more
