For years I was embarrassed by unsightly body acne that I had tried unsuccessfully treating with diet and supplements as well as over the counter medication. Then I learned about a drug called Accutane online and decided that it might be worth a shot. I made an appointment with Dr. Bauman and found her to be very nice. She spent a great deal of time talking to me about the drug dosage, side effects, and the importance of avoiding pregnancy while I was taking it. It has now been about three weeks and my skin has cleared up dramatically. I am very happy with the results and wish that I would have made my appointment earlier. more

I went to see Dr. Bauman after my primary care doctor found a suspicious mole on my neck. Her staff was very nice and Dr. Bauman also spent a great deal of time examining other areas of my body for similar moles before she did a biopsy on the one I was concerned with. Needless to say I was very nervous about it being melanoma, but Dr. Bauman looked at the sample the same day and gave me a call that night to tell me that it was not cancerous. I was very impressed with the way she handled my case and would recommend Dr. Bauman without hesitation to anyone looking for a great dermatologist on the Eastside. First of all, Dr. Carla Bauman truly is a real piece of work! I would give her and the clinic nothing but a big fat ZERO star if that's an option. Because everything reviewer sofieb commented on Carla Bauman was true and I experienced that myself. I only wish I could have read some comments like that about her before I went to her clinic this summer. more

She is such a horrible doctor that I feel like I need to write reviews everywhere just to warn people. I thought I was being oversensitive when I thought Bauman was a bad doctor with zero bedside manners until I came upon reviewers who experienced the same uncaring attitude from her. I was told to be 15 minutes early for my appointment to complete paperwork, and I was. I waited for 10 mins to see the nurse, who rushed through the preliminary questions. I don't know her name as she didn't introduce herself. She even filled in answers for questions that she did not ask, such as whether I use sunscreen or not. She then put a gown on the bed and walked out of the room without any instructions. Bauman and her then came into the room without knocking when I was in the midst of changing. She basically just glanced at my skin from when she was sitting (about 3 ft away) and dismissed my concerns. I asked her what she thought was the cause of my skin problems and she said she didn't know, it could be anything. Wow.... like I couldn't get that information myself off the internet. She just spoke really fast about some prescription and then walked out of the room. I drove 15 mins and waited 10mins for a doctor who spent less than 2 mins with me and made me feel like crap with her rudeness and uncaring attitude. Don't waste your time or money here; you might just as well pull someone off the street to talk about your skin. Cons: Rude, uncaring, did not listen, did not look at skin closely more

Dr. Carla Bauman is an excellent dermatologist. I have had Alopecia Areata since 1991 and went to her before she moved to the facility she's currently in. Right away she had a gentle and caring bedside manner. When it came time for me to get cortizone injections my insurance declined payment. Dr. Bauman on her own accord wrote a letter on my behalf that pursuaded them to pay. This wasn't necessary but boy was I thankful! I continue you to see her every year or if something new occurs. Yes there's a bit of a wait but I've tried to get into other offices when I'd moved out of the area and it was just as difficult. Once you're established it's a little less waiting time. I have had a few visits in Dr. Bauman's comfortable office. It is warm and inviting. The staff is helpful and pleasant. Initially, I had to wait nearly 2 months to get into see her. It was worth the wait. Pros: Kind, complete care; nice staff Cons: location is difficult to find more

Carla is an excellent doctor. She takes the time to listen, does not rush through an appointment, and tells you what you need to know about skin health. She also knows her stuff, especially about cancer prevention. The office is very pleasant, and the staff professional. I feel I can trust Carla and that she has patient's interests in mind---something you dont' always find these days. I'd highly recommend her! Pros: great attention, follow up more
