Best

I had a job out of state, wanted to relocate, and was only going to move if I found a better job than my current position. During my time with Career Transition Center, I received...

Worst

Here is the TL/DR version - It is a complete and utter ripoff / scam. BEWARE!! These 5 star reviews must have been written by CTC employees. Here is the real breakdown of wha...

comments not from clients 2/5/2009

I have read all the reviews and did some investigation to find that all the flowery comments were placed by CTC. These were not the comments of clients. Nonetheless, the internet is a useful tool but can be and is misused by many persons. Companies such as CTC are providing services and it is a shame that they and companies such as they have to defend themselves against comments by individuals who won't take responsibility for their own actions. more

Beware! 12/5/2008

I contacted CTC four days ago (I am writing this in December 2008). I was asked to e-mail my resume directly to Julie at the address she provided, which I did. I had been told that my resume would be forwarded to a career counselor and that I could expect to hear from someone by early afternoon the next day. more

Best career help for me at the time 3/5/2008

""This is how I felt after finding a great placement . ""Workshops and networking video training very helpful, seminars were exceptional, and mentoring provided by Rick Davis and his staff was invaluable"" Pros: Very positive attitudes toward a variety of clients and opportunities Cons: None for me more

Worked For Me 2/25/2008

Career Transition Centers (CTC) is not a headhunter. If you are looking for a service that just puts your resume out to potential employers - don't go there. You cannot be lazy and and suceed with their program. You have a financial investment in YOUR success with CTC; therefore, what you get is what you put forth. Rick Davis reviewed the entire program with me, including the contract, and timeline, in great detail. He was specific as to what CTC would and would not do. It was a clear explanation of what was expected of me and what I could do to ensure my own success. They will teach you (many class offerings), coach you, help you, encourage you, support you, but they will not do it for you. I highly recommend CTC to anyone interested, and willing to work to ensure their own success. Pros: Great classes more

Great for professional people 2/25/2008

I found that CTC offers a really valuable service for the true professional. I was able to easily market products and services, but when it came to marketing myself, it was a different story. They helped me to realize additional opportunities and how to market myself more effectively to companies that they helped me target. Pros: Their insight into the interview and negotiating processes. more

Great job services 2/23/2008

I would highly recommend Career Transition Centers. They helped me write my resume, get a job offer in the industry I wanted and helped me to start with a higher salary than I was offered by assisting me with my counter offer. Actually, the owner has successfully helped me counter two job offers in the past ten years and I landed both jobs. I found the seminars on Negotiating, Interviewing, Paradigms and more offered by the owner to be extremely beneficial in my career search. One of the other things that really stands out about C.T.C. is the staff. They truly do care about you and want to see you succeed. That made all of the difference for me. more

Great customer service 2/19/2008

""In today's knowledge-based economy, CTC teaches and ingrains their clients with the necessary skill set to succeed. Not only will you learn to navigate and master the competitive environment which is today's job marketplace, you will also experience the satisfaction of landing the perfect job."" Pros: Professionalism, Availability, Courtesy Cons: N/A more

Much appreciated help 2/18/2008

Very Friendly and helpful people. Very up front about all information and do not try to hide anything from customers. Was very instrumental in bettering interview skills, creating appropriate resume, and bettering negotiation skills. Pros: up front, friendy Cons: cost, but you get what you pay for. more

Waste of Money and Time. 1/12/2008

This service is expensive and the communication and results are poor. They prey on you when you are the most vulnerable, out of work. Information provided is out of date and un-helpful. They suggest finding jobs in the ""hidden market"", if you have a lot of time, money and patience it might work. But you could ""tap"" into the ""hidden market"" as well with out dumping your money to do it. Just send cover letters and resumes to companies not advertising they are hiring and hope for a call. They rarely get new job orders. The contacts they brag about having must of been from the 80's, they always no somebody who worked there but who works at companies currently. I wasted my money so you don't have to. There are some good, legitamite companies out there, do your research. Pros: good hype Cons: poor service, performance, communication more
