Car Repair 1/7/2012

While traveling through TX, my friend's car developed a odd noise coming from the engine. Not knowing the area well she was referred to Car-X Auto. Turns out the altenator belt was worn out and the car was low on oil. The service man was very helpful and the repairs were affordable. She spoke very highly in regards to this business and was thankful for their help in this matter. more

Not The Best Place To Take Your Car 4/11/2011

We have taken several vehicles to this Car X location. Most of the time the work needing to be done was questionable, but because we didn't know any better, we went ahead. The last time, Feb 2011, I took our van because it was making a strange noise in the front end. After paying for a $95 diagnostic I was given a quote to repair the transmission. Taking it apart, repairing the problem and putting it back together: $2400, possibly more if there was anything unforeseen. I took it away for another opinion; that mechanic diagnosed it as soon as he heard it (no fee) to be bearings. Total: less than $600. It has been running great for the last 2 months. Car X will never see another of our vehicles. more
