I recently had an alarm/remote start installed at Car Toys. I was not completely satisfied with the work. The installable features were never reviewed with me prior to the install. I feel my install was rushed and some of the basic features were not wired to work. I have had to return to the shop several times to complain. My siren was initially installed in a way that the sound was a lot lower than expected and barely audible from several feet away. My alarm was also installed in a way that only opening the driver's door and a significant jolt to the car would set off the alarm. Opening my trunk, hood, or any other door had no effect on the alarm, which is pointless. My advice to anyone who is going to have work done here is - know what you are expecting and inform them of that; review everything (including features) with them prior to having the work done; and verify everything is the way you expect it to be prior to leaving. I was told that if I was going to be so particular about the install that I probably should have done it myself. Not a very professional statement. more

We had Car Toys of Federal Way WA. install a car alarm. The car was purchased brand new and was just about 3 years old and in pristine condition. \r In addition to the alarm not working properly the underneath of the dash board was really scratched up by the alarm installer. None of the air fan positions worked after that and the dash board came apart from underneath and had to be reattached by my mechanic.\r When we returned the car in a timely manner to Car Toys to report the alarm didn't work and the other problems they gave us the cold shoulder and told us to ""go elsewhere."" Next time we need any kind of accessory that's just what we'll do! more

My office is on Rt22 next to Car & Toys. December 2007 Car & Toys installed a DVD/monitor in my Hummer(Car). Owner Lou never gave me any instruction manual. After couple of months the unit went bad. He took the unit back ( uninstalled) and promised to fix it. After several months, he wants to return the bad unit to me without fixing. I have a big hole in my $65,000 Hummer's celing and lost $640. I am suing him in small claim court. Owner lou is rude and unapologetic. Please avoid this company. Pros: on RT22 Cons: real bad cheater more

I went to Car Toys because I had passed by their shop in a daily basis. When I had purchased my new car I called them for a tint job. Upon arrival the tint tech was late, I waited around for him. When he arrived he proceeded to do his thing but I had noticed bubbles in the tints. I had pointed them out to him but he grew irrate. I even ask him to redo the panel and I was willing to pay more but he refused and delivered profanities. He said ""life isn't perfect."" And other uplifting remarks of the like. I had approached the shop owner to file a complaint but he had done nothing and basically looks away. I told the tint tech this would effect my referrals to the shop as I had know quite a few people ready to tint. He answered, ""I don't care about your referrals."" 3 years later the rear panel is peeling off and I need to redo it. I would advise you to stay away from this shop for their extremely poor services. Pros: advices about how imperfect life is given to you at no cost! Cons: poor tint job and shop owner's indifference give to you at a high cost... more
