I had a great experience. 3/17/2010

We have a an Infiniti and my wife wanted to take it to the dealership to be serviced but the warranty ran out. So, the people at the dealership recommended us to a mechanic who handles domestic automobiles. They said we needed new shocks and that we had a plastic timing belt that needed replaced. I then took the car to Car Care Service and their guy inspected it, drove it around, and determined that the shocks were fine and that the car does not even have a plastic belt. The Car Care Service mechanic could have charged us for those repairs, but instead he told us a regular tune up would be fine. He saved us between fifteen hundred and two thousand dollars. I have used them twice since then and I have been happy every time. I have recommended a friend of mine and she too was very happy with the results. The staff at Car Care Service are very courteous. If you live within a reasonable distance, they can give you a ride. I recommend them to everybody. Ed Barbera more

Needed to Pass Smog 2/16/2010

You know that sinking feeling you get the first time your car fails a smog check? Yep, I had it. I didn't know when I was going to find time to get my car repaired during my busy work week and wondered how long I'd have to manage without a car. Then I took my car into Car Care Service and found that they are not only pros when it comes to car repairs, but also know how to make what can be a stressful situation go smoothly. Communication was excellent and they gave me a shuttle ride both after dropping off my car and when coming back to pick it up. I will definitely recommend this shop to anyone who needs auto repairs or maintenance. more

Really cares about customers and their cars 1/30/2010

Wayne cars about cars because he cares about the people who drive them. He took the time to have a series of phone calls with me when I was stuck on the road. He is willing to work with you on your bill, knowing everyone is struggling financially. Above and beyond this he does excellent work on cars. more

Most Professional Mechanics Service in the East Bay 1/27/2010

I first became acquainted with Wayne and his mechanics in Berkeley CA over eight years ago and have followed them to Alameda, even though I reside in Albany. I trust the mechanics at Car Care Service and they have always treated me in a very professional manner. They are honest and have my best interest in mind. Sometimes they suggest things that can be repaired, should be repaired, or need not be repaired right away which is very helpful. The support staff is very courteous as well. They have a complimentary shuttle which picks you up etc and also takes you to the shopping center while you car is being serviced. I highly recommend Car Care Service of Alameda! more

Suggestion 1/27/2010

Had two new tires put on and the rims were filthy. Would be nice if they had been cleaned up a little as my rims were not that dirty when I brought my car in. more

I felt like I was treated very fairly and with respect. I am very pleased to have found a place to take my car instead of wasting infuriating time and money at the horrid dealership. They came in under their original estimate and well under the flat rate cost for 60,000 mile service the dealership was going to charge me. Also, they were prompt and communicative, a BIG plus! From the day that I rolled into the shop with a flat tire and Wayne stopped what he was doing (and he was very busy) came over and fixed it and wouldn't take a cent for the emergency help, I knew I'd found a place with customer service values well in place. I'm happy to repay the favour with my continued patronage. more

Friendly folks. Very flexible. I was able to get my car in quickly and they did the service quickly. Bill for repairs was higher than I'd expected. No way to know if I was overcharged. more
