My friends and I booked a booze cruise for our band with the Captain Pete. He was completely aware that it was going to be a booze cruise, and the only specific instructions were that we could not serve shots. On the day of the cruise, 2 hours before we were scheduled to leave, the beer distributor called him to arrange drop-off of the kegs. He flipped out and started yelling at the distributor, and called us to say that we could bring only one keg on the boat. We had enough people coming on the cruise to fill the boat completely (105 people). I explained to Pete that a keg holds between 125 and 170 servings, depending on if you're pouring 12 or 16 ounce cups. He insisted that a half keg holds 325 beers, and that if we wanted more than one keg on the boat, he would just cancel it, and that cancelling it was what he intended to do anyway. I very politely explained to him that we had no intention of cancelling the cruise, as we had 105 people paid and ready to go on the boat, so we would change whatever plans we had for the cruise to accommodate any criteria that he had for the boat to actually leave. He told me that it was clear that all we wanted to do was get drunk, so he suggested should instead have our kegs shipped to a nearby park, and get drunk there. He lastly told me that the cruise was cancelled, that he'd be sending our deposit back by mail, and then he hung up on me, and did not answer his phone for the rest of the day. I will never do business with a person like this again.
Pros: Captain Pete is sending back our deposit
Cons: He cancelled our cruise 2 hours before the start.
