AVOID ANY TIME 8/14/2007

After meeting my dad and some of my other family members for lunch today, I must say I was quite disappointed by several things. My family and I have eaten there many times, but have noticed that the quality of the food and service have been detoriating over our last few visits. One person at our table ordered FRIED bay scallops from the luncheon menu. She was brought out BAKED bay scallops. She attempted to eat them, but they were too fishy and it was not what she had ordered. She attempted several times to make the waiter aware, but he was busy with other things. She finally was able to let him know and he came and took the full plate from her not even giving her the opportunity to try to eat it or offer any other option. When she went to pay the bill, the manager would not even try to work with her. She told her that was what she ordered and she said it was not what she ordered. Then the manager asked her, ""do you know how to read a menu?"" The manager refused to refund anything or even apologize for the misunderstanding. I then attempted to try to work this out with the manager and she spared no rudeness toward me. She said, ""What do you want me to do, give food away just because someone doesn't like their meal?"" I was appauled by her lack of concern that a customer was walking out dissatisfied. She even added at the end of our ""conversation"" that, ""If you don't like it here then don't come back."" I have no intention of returning there and I do plan to let people know of this ridiculous reaction to a customer who has spent a lot of money there over the years and even today. In the process of trying to explain the situation, I also expressed to the manager that the waiter was rude also and her response to that was, ""he is one of our better employees"" with no futher action being taken on that either. As far as I'm concerned there are many other places in the Bangor area if you are looking for good, reasonably priced seafood. Stay away from here. Pros: I can't think of one Cons: service, quality of food, management more

Not for a special occasion... 6/16/2006

After several decent lunches I thought Captain Nicks would be a great place to bring my father for a lobster on his next visit from Florida. Wrong! The first mistake on this quiet Sunday was to order stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. Frozen both times they were brought to the table, I mentioned it to the waiter on the second delivery with a slight tone of disapproval and was told to back off because he didn't make them! He did however point to a woman who was loafing around the kitchen door and identified her as the owner and said he'd ask her to come over and speak to me. more
