We had dinner this evening at Capriccios. The restaurant was packed. We were given menus when we were seated. However, we waited 15 min for a waiter to come over and ask if we were ready to order. My wife said" could we have some water and order a drink first? The server said sure and took off for another 5 min. He finally brought water and took our dinner and drink order. That was the last time he came near our table for the next 45 min. Finally, we got a small salad from a runner. I asked for a glass of wine and he told me he would send our server. Never happened. When our dinner was finally served I managed to get the server's attention and asked for a glass of wine which appeared in about 5 min. I will say the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was fine, but very loud. There had to be 6 or 7 people celebrating a birthday as we listened to “Happy Birthday” in Italalian over and over again more

Easy review...\r First of all the ambience is very nice...not upscale/sophisticated nice, but comfortable like a home nice. \r Welcomed nicely, taken to a great table when it was not a very busy hour and the complimentary bread was delicious. The service was professional in a true sense of the word. Our waiter was an older gentleman who obviously has perfected his craft. We had a young child with us, which I was hesitant to do, but the waiter treated her as though she could be a returning customer...which she will be!\r It was my first time there and the first thing that caught my attention when viewing the menu was that the food was rather expensive. So, I figured, let's not go with the fettucine alfredo or another typical plate, but let's enjoy the best this restaurant has to offer. A friend of mine taught me long ago, that one might ask the waiter what it is they should have, and obiously take it under strong advisement. Well, that is what I did! He said the special of the day was snapper...uh-oh, I practically never order cooked seafood! I went with my instinct anyway after he explained how it was aquired, prepared and served...IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST DELICIOUS MEALS I HAVE EVER EATEN! The downside, it was $36. hardly a price to pay for such a memorable meal.\r \r As I mentioned before, the waiter was a pro. The owner sang some opera which was not anticipated, but a wonderful surprise. I believe he checked with a table nearby and they requested or accepted his offer, so I don't think this could be some random situation of discomfort for a diner. A pianist was also playing lovely music, setting a mood and theme for the evening.\r \r This is a restaurant that you want to call your ver own and become a regular at...the prices may prevent that though. A top notch restaurant that will be revisited many times to come!\r \r Downside - the bathroom was dirty and small, which really takes away from an overall experience for me...also, it was right across from a kitchen entrance :(\r \r Overall, a gem that you might not expect to be there...well done! more

Went to Capriccio's last weekend on the recommendation of a friend. All I can say is WOW. From the beginning to the end, I loved it. Great and attentive service, good food and LOVED the entertainment. It gave me a good all over homey feeling. Went into the bar for a dance after dinner. What a great way to spend an evening. Can't wait to go back! BTW, they state they have the best Shrimp Scampi- well they do. more

went to eat there with my wife had to return the calamari because it was cold,my waiter a funny Spanish man did not understand me and he smelled foul i asked to speak to the manager in charge and a little man came and told me he was the part time manager he smelled like alcohol and took care of the problem after looking around i saw that the whole staff seemed out of it .....besides that the food was fair more

First time going and weren't disappointed. Staff was courteous, food was very good (try the calamari!), music volume was a bit over the top but I guess it's the Italian way of doing things. more

Ordered the namesake "veal capriccio". Mediocre, overcooked veal with way too much gloppy sauce. Pasta was pre-cooked and was at least 3 minutes beyond al dente. Husbands fish was bland and again too much sauce. Never did get the broccoli rabe we ordered. Service was very slow and distracted. Popular place though I can't figure out why. Chain Italian places are no worse. Disappointing. more

Once the music quieted down a bit we felt totally relaxed in the atmosphere. I had a veal dish that was cooked just right with mushrooms and sauce. My husband had an italian fish. We had a stuffed artichoke for appetizer. The service was great. We enjoyed. more

I took my wife out to dinner at Capriccio's with another couple. We were served dinner and never saw the waiter again. No drinks/dessert/NOTHING for at least 30 minutes!! We asked to speak to the owner .manager and was blown off by her as well. She was to busy sitting at a table with friends. We almost left $20 on the table and left. Good food but the service was HORRIBLE!!! Way to ruin my wifes B-day. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK. more

My hubby and I went on a friends recommendation that it was the BEST Italian place in Pines. I remember not being amazed, my expectations were too high after she built it up, I guess. It wasn't bad and I remember having a good time, but we haven't been back since. Whatever I ordered that day didn't compel me to go back, but it wasn't bad either. more

Capriccio's has a pseudo-Italian atmosphere with the wine barrels on the wall from France and Germany. The food is excellent, but slow. The portions are adequate but not over abundant. The owner SINGS! He is Siciliano, which explains the dialect. On the expensive side but a lovely evening out. more

Classy Italian 3/21/2009

I love Italian food but equally important is the ambience and service. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat. Great customer service and atmosphere greeted me immediately. I'm from New Orleans where great food is abundant. Capriccio's got it matched. The portions are very generous, well prepared and of course delicious. This is a unique place which recognizes that its customers are unique and treats each one special. The chef will even make up a dish according to your wishes. What a place. Pros: Greatest Portions Cons: Can't think of one more

Music, Dancing and FABULOUS FOOD 3/10/2009
