My first experience at the new Coppolla's in Clayton...
I placed a pick-up order at 5:45 on a Friday evening and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes (I was prepared for it to take 45 min or so, on a Friday and all.)
My wife arrives to pick up the order and they tell her it's gonna be another 30 mins. So, my wife makes arrangements to have the order delivered. While she is in the restaurant a customers ahead of her cancelled there order and get a refund (not a good sign.) Also, everyone working in the restaurant were teenagers, save for one older gentleman making pizzas, who I assume was the owner.
Well, we finally get the order delivered at 7:30. The pizza was wrong, the entire order was cold, and there were dessert items that were not sent. I called to get a refund for the missing items and was given the excuse from the owner that ""we had an order for 24 large pizzas..."" and ""...we are trying to help the community by hiring these kids..."" Please.
I admire them trying to ""help the community"" by employing the teenagers. But doing so at the detriment of your quality and service is silly and annoying. And also, if you can't handle the 24 pizza order you need to communicate it to the customer and also to the customers coming in behind that order.
Long story longer...even if the food had been correct and hot it would have still been a disappointment. Average pizza, rubbery, greasy wings...same old same old.
I hope they made a lot of money on the large order, because they certainly lost my business and that of at least 1 other customer. Good luck saving the world Cappolla's! My bet is you're closed within a year.
