That's the sum total of what can be said about Canyon Lakes "Country Club". A short, poorly kept course, whose pro-shop workers are amongst the rudest I've run into. And since t...

Good course with some very interesting holes 3/13/2011

A nice course that is kept in good shape usually easy to get a tee time. Several interesting, tough holes and few that are not so good but that is pretty typical. There are lots of houses around different holes but not much of a problem as they are not too near the fairways. 1st hole is a short par 4 to hidden green that has water behind the green good drive sets you up for an easy par. 2nd is long par 5, visually nice but not difficult, 3 is a fairly long par 3 but straight. 4 is a crazy par 4 that is super short but for me its a 9 iron drive and a wedge second to an almost island green. I love the look of the par 3 5th with a small lake in front but that is where I had my second ace so always a fond memory. The signature hole for me is the 14th a long par five with a tee shot that has to clear a lake and gorge to the right side of the fairway, anything to the left will roll all the way down to a creek. Then you need a good 2nd shot to get to the edge of another gorge for a 3rd to an elevated green, I love this hole. I don't know who all of these rude staff are but I have played this course 30+ times and have never met them. This is a nice course. more

Terrible!! 2/16/2003

This has to be the most over-valued course in the Bay Area. At $85 a pop, I was led to believe that this course would play to the likes of Hiddenbrook, Poppy Ridge, Persidio etc... definitely not worth the money. To make things worse, the pro shop staff are very rude people. They will tell you anything to get your money, and will argue with you if you question there operation. Play was slow and the marshal wouldn't think about asking his friends to pick up the pace. Pros: Wide Fairways, Location, Views Cons: Pro staff, Over-valued, Beat up greens more

That's the sum total of what can be said about Canyon Lakes "Country Club". A short, poorly kept course, whose pro-shop workers are amongst the rudest I've run into. And since the opening of the Bridges, their prices have gone up, up, up... Cons: Poor value, short course, poorly maintained more
