I want to take the opportunity to write a possitive review about my experience at Canyon Fitness Center. I joined just about a year ago and my time here has been wonderful! I want to thank the staff for always being available with any questions that I have and also wanted to mention that I love all the classes! Each Instructor is very motivating and I truely feel someday's they are the reason I come! more

I don't know what the harsh reviews are about! I feel like the staff are my friends, that is how friendly they are. Lots of equipment, amazing classes and never crowded! My one and only complaint would be the lighting in the cardio room, they hurt my eyes if I am on a machiene directly under them. It feels luxurious inside and not cookie cutter like La fitness or 24 hour fitness. My son loves the child care area and somethimes dosen't want to leave! Not to mention, you can't beat the location! So close to my house! I frequently go twice in 1 day! more

The only reason I joined this gym was because it was 2 miles away. I didn't get the best impression there, but...it WAS after all local. Wendy strong armed the sale and when I went to use my membership that weekend, I realized the gym was NOT for me. Dark, damp, dingy. Terrible lighting. The facility stank like harsh chemicals - rubber and epoxy, and when you've worked out for an hour, it's unbearable. When I went upstairs, it was like 90 degrees. I called the next day to cancel, saying it just wasn't for me, that I needed something more airy, and Wendy just wasn't going to take no for an answer and ultimately transferred me to ""Customer Service"" to talk to Melissa who said she is the GM there. who offered anything but customer service. As soon as I explained how I felt, she came back, tauntingly, with ""I'm sorry you didn't read your contract. You signed a 12 month contract. I can't let you out of it."" Really? So Canyon Fitness Center really wants the bad press instead, or wants someone in their gym who doesn't want to be there? I worked out there once. The conversation got heated as I said that I could come down and work out while telling everyone how terrible the gym is and that she was the worst manager ever. Hmm, or maybe a shirt saying ""only working out here because CFC won't let me out of my contract."" From that point, she was on the attack with me. Seriously, who would hold someone to the fire like that? She ultimately gave me my check back, but not after berating me at length about the fact that I signed a contract, not caring a bit that I wasn't happy there. She also refused to give me written confirmation of the cancellation, saying ""No. I'm not going to give you everything you want. Just take my word for it."" Yet, she was the one holding me to the fire over something that was in writing. Wouldn't you want your cancellation confirmation in writing? Menifee Valley Athletic Club seems to be the way to go. A little bit further of a drive, but worth it! I've already had a tour. The people there are awesome. The classes are great, I hear, so I'll sign up there instead. Two thumbs way down for Canyon Fitness Center. Too bad. more

I have been to over 100+ gyms, both privately owned and Corporate owned. Canyon Fitness Center is by far the worst. There is no true management @ Canyon Fitness Center. Wendy is in Hard Sales. If you go to Canyon Fitness Center you will be hassled and pressured by Wendy to join the club. I guarantee you she will make you feel uncomfortable. If you do go in DO NOT GIVE YOUR PHONE #! She will harass you till you join... Wendy called me 5 times with in 3 hours. As far as the the owner Dave, he is a purely %100 business man. By that I mean, he only does the bare minimum just to keep the doors open and keep collecting his money. The club members aren't in his concerns... It's no good to call Dave the owner, as he will tell you what you want to hear and not change a thing... more

This gym is a joke. For one the staff members are not there to help you, they are there to make money and that is it. One lady, Wendy, will call and call and call again untill you join. She called me at least six times in one day. They tell you it will be one price then somehow it ends up being hundreds more. Horrible gym. Going to LA Fitness. They are cheaper and the staff are way better!!! Pros: Good classes Cons: Rude staff, Steal money more

This gym will not return phone calls, about canceling. RUN, don't walk away from here. I have spoke to many members who are afraid they will resume taking dues from out accounts as soon as they can open their doors. We assume that is why they will not return calls about canceling our memberships. Buyer beware, here is a club that was bad before the fire, now they are hanging on by their finger nails hoping for a miracle that is not coming. They have been caught on other review sites having their employees write reviews. Not cool. Pros: They are currently closed. Cons: They seem to not understand how to cancel memberships. Half of building is burned down. Dance company pulled out already..seeing writing on the wall. more

This gym was bad before the fire...now it's a joke. You can't get refunds, get hung up on by some rude person named Melissa. They want us to go back to a half burned out building. Instead of admitting the gym is a loser and refunding...they want to hold on to any amount of money they can get their hands on. RUN...DON'T BUY INTO THE LIES.
