Stanfordians and area residents don't have to travel all the way to San Francisco to visit a world-class museum, there's one right in their proverbial backyard. The recently expanded and renovated Iris and B Gerald Cantor Center for the Visual Arts, which features one of the best Rodin collections outside of his studio in Paris. It has 24 galleries plus sculpture gardens, terraces, and a lovely courtyard that is perfect for picnics. There is a museum shop/bookstore and a café on the premises. Admission is free, and the museum puts on many programs geared toward educating youth.
