Don't expect a lot of authentic, down home or creative Mex or Tex-Mex originality in the food. The recipes are all designed at headquarters in Dallas and each store 'followers' the rules and uses the supplied 'spice pacs' with which to season. In one way, this is a positive, at least you can bet the roasted tomatoes and tomatillo salsa will always taste the same (actually quite tasty). Their 'signature ' handmade guacamole, which is generally pretty good stuff, does allow for a bite of customization on the part of the customer....'add a little more of this and not so much of that.'\r

Margaritas are pretty much run of the mill - mass mixed in five gallon containers. although fresh (as opposed to concentrated) lime juice is the base of the concoction. Depending on who is mixing the batch, the tequila is sometimes added with a light touch....be prepared to ask for a side shot to boost the burn. Better to spend the extra money and have the bar man or bar maid mix a custom 'Rita' and have it done the way you want it\r

So, don't set your goals too high when visiting the Cantina Laredo location in Gulfstream and you won't be disappointed.\r

Even though the food and drinks are slightly above average, the management is top shelf and the staff is always friendly....and the bar scene during Happy Hour can be busy and fun!
