Hello all considering Cancun Restaurant The food is definitely acceptable however be wary of the owners and waiters. I frequented the establishment for years. But I guess with the bad economy their level of service has become clearly unacceptable. My family and I were in there ordering the same thing we always get. A fajita, tripple combo and taquito bites with the guacamole and sour cream on the side and margaritas/kids drinks. The waiter asked us if I wanted to have the sour cream and guacamole on the combo plate on the side. I said sure and was a little confused cause I had never been asked that before. So when the bill showed up there was this extra $2 charge. I had no idea what it was for and thought maybe it was a plate charge cause I was sharing my meal with my 1.5 year old son (which I had also not seen before but would have paid as I know some restaurants do this). Anyway when I found out it was for Guacamole and Sour cream I brought it up that I was not aware this was an added item and asked they please remove it from the bill due to a missunderstanding. Thats when things got oddly surreal. Note I never was angry and never raised my voice...it seemed like an odd misunderstanding. None the less the restaurant went into emergency mode. The waiter blatantly refused to remove it in a rude way and said I should have known and showed me how there is a side for guac and sour on menu and thats what he was asking if I wanted extra. I said ok but I come here every 2-3 weeks and this is how you want to treat me and my family. I then said can I speak to the owner. Boy she was unwilling to bend either. We never even ate it becuase everything else came with too much guac and sour that we left most of it over from what came with all entrees anyhow. I said look I am not angry and I obviously like your establishment since I know you have seen us before, but this has never happened and its so minor its an obvious missunderstanding on both my and waiters part. But I do feel the minor $2 for principal should be removed. No way. They then told me to sign the credit card slip and leave. Yes leave! We will never go back. It is sad in someways cause we went there frequently but in many ways its a sign of how some people run a business and how some should not. I instead will go to another Mexican restaurant a couple miles further away (worth the 2$ in gas ;-) ) called Acapulco's. We have gone there for years as well never with an incident...In fact I have never had an incident in a restaurant before. So don't go to Cancun instead go to Acapulco's Enjoy a restaurant that respects the customer and not the almighty dollar. It is important to note that this was never about money to me. It was a misunderstanding. I own a business as does my wife and I can't imagine staying in business with that kind of customer is always wrong attitude. By the way this became the first time I did not leave a tip in my life...so in reality I saved more than the 2 dollars they were trying to get and they lost more money. Please don't go here unless you like being mistreated. more
