Pleasant enough, but... 4/7/2011

Six lunching ladies found Can Can Brasserie pleasant enough, but none of us thought the food was anything special - not bad, but not great either, although the bouillabaise was praised. The atmosphere is nice (although pretty noisy, if you have any hearing issues), service was fine, but I eat out for good food, so probably would go elsewhere for that. more

Fun Restaurant! 11/10/2006

Can Can is a great restaurant in Carytown. The decor is fun and energetic, mimicking a fun French restaurant They have a nice wine and beer selection, and they offer wine samples before commitment AND carafes. The food is delicious, and we LOVED dessert. In addition, the staff was helpful and knowledgeable without being overbearing or hovering.   • Ohh La La! According to my French dictionary, brasserie means brewery, restaurant or lunchroom. Can Can Brasserie isn't a brewery (nor are there any high-kicking dancers, in case you were wondering), but it is just about everything else food- and beverage-related you can imagine - a restaurant, raw bar, patisserie, boulangerie, coffeehouse, breakfast spot and late-night bar destination. Mon dieu! Can Can, is a lavishly authentic, but casual, French restaurant in Carytown. It has a traditional French cuisine with seasonal focus, and there menus vary monthly. Can Can has a in-house full service bakery with artisanal breads daily, 50 ft. zinc bar featuring oysters and champagne cocktails, and a all-day service starting with a 7 a.m. coffeehouse. Hospitality driven with value on all menus complemented by an all-French wine list with by the glass and carafe selections. It is the perfect place for Private Parties or Group gatherings!
