My family and I have dined at Campo Verde for nearly twenty years and we have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere; my grandson, who is now eight, has enjoyed the train for his entire life.
Last night, my wife and I each ordered the "bottomless bowl" of tortilla soup. What we got was a "bottomless pit" of nasty gruel. The soup appeared to be a white, grainy mish-mash of what was left over in the disposal. On the bottom of the bottomless bowl was a gathering of nasty green peas and corn. The taste was nothing I had ever experienced before - and that is NOT a compliment.
To make matters worse, when I notified our waitress of the problem, she apologized and presented us with our bill.... and walked away. At the cash register, I repeated my displeasure to the cashier. As she processed my credit card, she said, "So, do you want me to tell my manager?" Duh? Yes, please.
Very disappointing.
