Nice Place close to Lake Michigan 7/11/2011

We have been camping here for over 10 years, we have a boat and motorhome, after being in the sun all day, nice to come back to a big, shaded grassy site for dinner and campfire. We have grown children and grandkids that have camped here in tent area, nice playground and fenced in play area for smaller kids. There is alot to do in Grand Haven, this campground is close to everything. more

Never again 7/6/2011

The site had barely enough room for our 4 person tent to fit between the posts. The picnic table had to be placed right near the fire pit due to lack of room so that smoke was constantly in face. I understand that the posted speed is 5mph, but to chase down a vehicle cause it's going 8 (I saw what I am 98% sure to be a radar gun in their office) and not give him a chance to apologize or respond, on a first offense, slightly overboard. In her yelling she told him that visitors were required to be out by 9:30 even though it's posted as being 10pm in the office. They approached me about my speed and when I commented saying that I might have been going a little over but that I was busy concentrating on the kids that were riding their bikes and playing catch, their response "You need to watch your speed more carefully". Really? what's more important watching your speed or watching for kids all over the place? They consistently questioned how many people we had staying the night, told us our music had to be turned off 1/2 hour before quiet time despite not realizing we had music on, until they stopped to talk to us. Oh and Jim, obviously there is no way of proving this, but there was no more than 10 beers consumed on site all weekend (7/1/11 - 7/5/11) and of the three that ended up staying there, I was the only one who was drinking, due to health issues the other two are not able to drink. Scrapped myself diving while playing paddle ball and when my friend went to ask for a band aid she was drilled about how I got the cut, and not once asked if I was ok. People are coming here to relax and enjoy themselves, constantly being accusing them of breaking the rules and threatening to kick them out with little to no understanding is horrible customer service and explains why on a 4th of July weekend in Grand Haven, when nearly ever other place is booked, Hotels and Campgrounds alike I looked, this place was n more

BEWARE 7/5/2011

Though I have not stayed in this campground I can tell you that my dealings with them is terrible. I booked a reservation back in May for a campsite at the end of July. I canceled the reservation the first part of June. I still do not have a credit on my credit card. After numerous attempts and being lied to, hung up on I still do not have a credit. I have called and they tell me they will do it, yet nothing is done. They are crooks! So if this is how they treat people...don't go there. I would look at Jellystone park in Grand Haven or state park. Stayed at both and they are awesome. This campground and its employees are terrible. more

Close to everything! 8/17/2005

Two miles from the state park and Lake Michigan. Spots for tents, trailers, and motor homes. Right across the street from Meijer -- which is open 24 hours. They have electrical hookups, laundry facilities, and a playground. Decent lodging for families and those who don't want to spend outrageous prices on lodging. Pets permitted on a leash. more
