Camp Dearborn Office

I have went to Camp Dearborn every year for a week since I was 13. Camp Dearborn offers cabins, tents and a location where you can bring your own sleeping arrangements. We always stay in the same cabin. I love taking my daughter now. She is already looking forward to going. Camp Dearborn has many activities. They have Chicken Fat (an exercise program) they have a talent show, a craft center, paddle boats, several playgrounds, basket ball courts and a tennis court. Camp Dearborn also has a swimming pool, a fishing pond and two beaches. Our Cabin comes with 6 beds, a kitchenette with a stove and refrigerator. For $240.00 a week you cant beat a vacation at Camp Dearborn!! more

I love this place my girlfriends have been going since they were young and still continue to go for their children. It is tons of fun since they all go at the same time. The pool is very nice and the life guards are pretty attentive. Last year we stayed for half the week and it was really great. You have your own kitchen complete with mini fridge stove top pantry picnic table and grill. The cabins have outlets so you can bring all of your modern goods. The only thing I didn't like were the porta potties I walked down to the pool house and grabbed a shower and my bathroom duties every morning and night. Sitting around the campfire is a total blast. Everyday has a different activity planned for kids. Every week has a different theme. more

Ok, it's been a while since I went here, I admit it. But I just fail to see the attraction of the place. Sure, it's big, there's lots of grass and some water. There is a "canteen" with a cement patio where the kids dance at night, but it just doesn't seem like there's much else to do or see here. The last time I was at their beach it was crowded and filthy, I wouldn't bother with that again. However, if you are looking for a unique little weekend trip, they do have cabins that they rent out (I believe they call them "tents" even though they are permanent structures) - it's camping with a suburban twist I guess. more
