We were trying to purchase a 25 ft cabin cruiser and went in and agreed on a price of $900 less than sticker with Barry, their salesperson along with a GPS/Fishfinder installed at cost. We offered to put money down but they wanted to wait until everything was completed. Barry, the salesman, indicated he would send us a copy of the agreement by email. We paid for a boat survey and passed along the few things that needed to be fixed. We did not hear from them past the expected deliver date and called. We received a voicemail that it would not be ready. In speaking with another sales person, none of the parts needed had been ordered yet. We tried to remedy the situation. Then the sales person no longer "remembered" that the gps/fishfinder was a part of the arrangement. When he was reminded and finally remembered we went ahead and had them send us an invoice before picking up the boat. The in voice had the price at the sticker price. I emailed that that was a mistake and received a call from Dennis, the sales manager, stating that they never would have agreed to lower the price. We had never received the email about the agreed price so we have no proof of the agreement. We were now 3 weeks plus into this process and had put about $500 into the survey. We did not, however, feel that such dishonest practices were reasonable and told them that we would walk away. We finally told them that this was not a business practice that we felt was ethical and we are looking for another boat. I don't want others to be tricked into paying more than intended in the future so I am writing this complaint.
