Camas Washougal Animal Hospital is fantastic! 2/21/2009

I'd highly recommend anyone use this vet if they can. They've treated my animals and foster dogs whom I have fostered; their care is nothing short of exemplary and their prices are not sky high like so many other vets in the area. You can get in on short notice if needed and they have at times squeezed me in when an injury or issued called for it rather than make me wait or pay out the nose for an emergency vet. I highly recommend them to anyone. Pros: Easy access of SR-14; parking; staff; care Cons: None! more

Best Vet in the North West!!!!!! 12/1/2008

I have been a pet owner my whole life. Everything from dogs to horses, rabbits to birds so in turn I have dealt with a few vets. The Camas-Washougal Animal Hospital is by far the BEST veterinary clinic I have ever been to. I currently have Four dogs and three cats and they have been more then wonderful. Scheduling is easy, the wait short the people FANTASTIC and the prices are well...... unbeatable. I drive 25 miles to take my animals to them and it is WELL worth it. I would recommended Camas- Washougal Animal Hospital to any and every one. Have BIG animals (horses and such) They well treat them too!!! Oh did I mention they have 24 hour service?!? Pros: PRICES, Staff, Parking, Service, Cons: Location...far away from Bigger towns, close into Camas more

Only place I go 7/11/2008

One of my cats has always been sickly so I find my self at the vets pretty often. One Saturday I saw him acting very sick so I rushed him to an Emergency Vet. It was so impersonal and sterile (not in the good way) that they didn't even allow me in the examination room with my cat. They sedated him and gave him x-rays, the whole time I could hear him yowling from the lobby. The x-rays showed nothing so they suggested a treatment plan involving IV's, more x-rays, an endoscopy and surgury. The bill would've been in the thousands. I told them I'd have to wait and get a second opinion, paid the 300 dollar bill already racked up and left. On Monday I took him to the Camas Washougal Animal Hospital, were they petted and talked to my cat, said he had a repritory virus, gave me some shots to administer and made a follow up appointment. The whole process cost 100 dollars and my cat was better within the week. After that experience I would never go anywhere else for treatment for my sickly cat. They have even treated my large animals and don't mind when I bring sheep into their office. They know me, they know my cat's medical history and remember me when I go in. Pros: welcoming, kind staff who clearly love animals Cons: I live in Portland, they are in Washougal more

Veternary Hospital on 6th St. in Camas- is a good place for your pets!! 4/16/2008

We have had a very good experience with the Camas Vet located on 6th St. They were very polite and most importantly, ""polite"", to our loved pets as well. Dr. Lori was very kind and good at her profession. I would recommend this place without hesitation!\r \r The only reservation I may offer is that it takes a bit to reach them on the phone. They appear to be quite busy much of the time.\r \r Mike Pros: Experienced Vets, good care, good value for your dollar Cons: hard to reach on the phone, EMAIL capability- unknown. more

Sorry I cannot sing their praises 4/6/2008

Im sorry but everytime I have taken my dog their they seem confused, unwelcoming, and all in all incompetent. Wanting to take my dog somewhere locally I picked this location, and recently had my dog neutered. I called the night before requesting his rectum glands be cleaned, and told them if he has to take medicine to please give him the right dosages because in the past everytime they give him anything they overdose him and he ends up throwing up. When I went to pick him up, they had told me they had messed up during the surgery that the doctor didn't tie off his little tube and sent him home for us to wait and see if he was internally bleeding. His gums were sickly white, his stitches look sloppily done, he was completely sedated and bleeding from his rectum. There was no apology, just a bill that was made to be paid in full. I took him back the next day they gave him meds for his bleeding which he threw up because they gave me the wrong dosage. I will never return, I will now be going to Summit Animal hospital. In my dogs case they should of kept him over night for monitoring, instead me and my husband getting no sleep, a simple procedure such as cleaning his rectum glands should not of caused my dog to be bleeding. Good luck with your new pet if you decide to go to this place! more

Best vet there is 4/3/2008

I have nine cats, and it's tough to find a vet that works well with all their different ages and concerns. Camas-Washougal Animal Hospital is quite simply the best veterinarian service I've ever used. I'm planning to move soon, and we plan to go on making the hour drive each way for non-emergency services, because Dr. Monica Townsend and Dr. Lorri Heirman are simply two of the best vets around. They interact well with my cats, and are able to put them so much at ease that, while there may be yowling on the drive there, there's quiet contentment on the drive home - even if there were Shots! It *is* busy, but that's because they're the best. I've never felt rushed once I was in the examining room with the vet, and every medication, shot and recommended treatment has been explained to me. Pros: Terrific vets, terrific staff, terrific diagnosis and treatment Cons: Can be a little busy at times more

Awesome pet service 3/24/2008

For the past three months I have been job shadowing Monica for my senior project at Camas High School, and I have to say that it is one of the most welcoming places I have ever been to. The staff that works there is always friendly and willing to help. Bringing your pets to this office ensures the best care for your loved ones. Monica and her crew do the best they can to make life simple for you and your pet(s). Pros: Great service Cons: Usually very busy because it's such a great place! more

Most compassionate care I have ever encountered! 3/15/2008

This is the first review I have ever written but I felt compelled to relay a story about the exceptional veterinary care our dog recieved from Dr. Monica Townsend. She not only gave exceptional care to Katie but she took the time to help us work through our grief at the sudden loss when no more could be done for our beloved pet. We have owned and cared for our 4 legged family members for more years than I care to remember and over the years we have been to many veterinarians , some good and some not so good but we have never been treated with so much compasson. Monica took the time to work with us and I am certain she cares very much for the pets as well as their owners. I would highly recommend this clinic and there doctors as well as staff. First class operation. Pros: Best all around care as well as staff and doctors are awesome. Cons: At times can be very busy. May have to wait a bit but well worth it! more
