NEW HANOVER -- A Coatesville contractor is in prison awaiting a hearing on charges he allegedly stole $4,800 from a New Hanover couple who paid him for work he never completed.
Richard Camaroto, 33, of 735 Cedar Knoll, Coatesville, was sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail after his arraignment before District Judge Maurice Saylor. Camaroto is charged with deceptive or fraudulent business practices, theft by deception, and theft by unlawful taking or disposition.
According to court records, Camaroto entered into an agreement with the victims to complete work at their Saint Victoria Lane residence in March. The victims gave Camaroto the 50 percent deposit of $4,800, however, he never completed the work.
