I love Saving Grace! I think MeatMarket may have gotten a wrong impression or simply misunderstood the conversations he/she was overhearing. MeatMarket, if you are reading this now, please consider visiting our church again, getting reconnected, and maybe even confronting those you overheard and were stumbled by. We never promise to be ""perfected."" As Christians, we simply desire to serve and worship our true and living God who is worthy of nothing less but a completely surrendered life.
Are we all surrendered? Absolutely not, it's a moment by moment decision each of us most make every single day and most of the time, I fail. We all fail. But we have a Lord of Grace and Mercy who loves us anyway - we must exercise that Grace, especially with those who seem the most ""unworthy...""
At Saving Grace, Pastor Trent's teaching is purely sound doctrine. There is NO legalism, NO ""policy,"" and women are definitely not discouraged from having their own careers!
I myself am an entrepreneur and run a very successful business along with my husband and have never felt the pressure to quit work or dress a certain way or act/behave in any particular manner. The fellowship here is beautiful and we have so many nationalities, languages, cultures, and ages represented here.
Our body recognizes that church is a place for sinners, not for ""saints."" We are here because we recognize a need for change in ourselves...to align our hearts and our desires with God's will for our lives.
The Word of God is presented completely, without bias, and without apologies. Our ears are not ""tickled"" with things we want to hear, but simply the honest truth. Does everyone want to hear the truth? Especially if it's ""offensive?"" Most often not, which is why we must always ask God to search our hearts and to prepare our minds to be open to the Word of God.
Our Pastor studies tirelessly, gives us verse after verse of scripture to cross reference and encourages us to ""test' the Word. We are challenged to increase our prayer life, our faith, and encouraged to study the Word of God. But what I love most about Saving Grace, is the freedom to worship, the freedom to laugh or cry, the freedom to weep, and the freedom to simply be overwhelmed with JOY as I am reminded that God loves me SO much! Every week, I feel like Pastor Trent's message was directly given to him by God to talk to me and me alone about an area in my life where I am experiencing ""spiritual growing pains."" I really do feel like the messages are just for me! But then, when I ask around, everyone says the same thing! :) That's the living Word of God working in our lives and the lives of those we love. When its been like this for the nearly 6 years I've been attending Saving Grace, it can't be a coincidence. :)
I've been so blessed by the teachings and fellowship here at Saving Grace. I pray that God will help you, the reader, find your home church. If you are ever in the area or considering attending our church more regularly, don't be shy, please come by and visit! We'd love to meet you. :)
