I strongly disagree and am somewhat outraged with the review above. This is my 7-year-old daughter's 3rd year of dance with Jeannette and her classes and costumes have been extremely age-appropriate. I have no clue what the lady above is talking about when she mentions "push-up bras" for 11-year-olds. Perhaps the reviewer above does not understand that if a young girl is developing early (as many of them do), she needs to wear the proper undergarments when dancing in order to maintain modesty and also to prevent injury. If that means a bra, then so be it.
My daughter attended another dance school the year before we moved her to Jeannette's. We moved her because the other dance studio basically ignored the younger children and focused only on their high school aged and competition girls. My husband and I were astounded at the huge gap of talent between the really accomplished older dancers and the rest of the dancers in the recital. We wondered just how the younger ones would ever be as good as the older ones if they are not receiving the attention they deserve now.
The bottom line is, if you want your little girl to wear cute frilly Little Bo Peep Costumes while they clap, shuffle and blow kisses at the audience, then by all means, go elsewhere. But if you want your daughter to learn how to DANCE, go to Jeannette Callahan's School of Dance.
