First off the salon pays attention to details: - You will always find it spotless and clean. - You will find the atmosphere of the salon and the spa areas to be soothing and calm. - Everyone you encounter will always be respectful. - There is never a sense of feeling rushed. I had been searching the West Chester area for a consistently high-quality salon for a long time, after I first moved to the area some years ago. I had been shuffled through a few and Calista gave me a sigh of relief when I first walked through the doors. Over a year later and I feel as if the staff treats me with the high level of respect, helpfulness, and patience I received the first time I walked in the door. Here are my first-hand experiences with the staff I use for services and would give my highest recommendation to anyone seeking their skills. Monica - Hair stylist. I love this lady. Her personality is stellar. You will never feel like you've gotten anything but the best from her each and every time you visit her for your hair. She will give you 100% of her attention while she is working with you and more importantly she listens intently on what you want. She has an amazing sense of humor, yet performs her job with the high skills and professionalism you would expect in a salon of this caliber. There is truly no one else's hands I trust my head to. Karen - Massage therapist. Karen has a natural gift in applying her hands to your body with exacting precision and pressure it needs to relieve your aches, pains, and stress. Karen was the only massage therapist, out of six I had tried locally, that could loosen up and relieve a problem area on my body that had been plaguing me for a year. She is respectful, patient, and very professional. Yajaira - Esthetician. A lady with the patience of a saint and the professionalism of a President. I had been searching for an esthetician that would be willing to wax the bikini area for men for a long time, with no success -- until I visited Calista Grand. Yajaira is very skilled and reassuring to new clients, easing your worry and nervousness. I have been a client of her's for close to a year now and have never felt uncomfortable or embarrassed in having her work on my body. Yajaira is the consummate professional. more

I have recently gone to Calista for a cut and color with Monica! She was referred to me by my nieghbor/friend. I have been searching for a new stylest for awhile and after trying many other salons and stylists, i finally found my girl! She suggested a new style that suited "my face shape" and i left with the perfect blonde color i have been trying to get for so long! more

I have been going to calista for 5 years now I have never been let down.. I am always greeted with a smile! I like to go earlier then my appt and enjoy a comp glass of wine and some snacks... My stylists (Dayna) assistant always takes me back and I enjoy a fabulous scalp massage ( all are amazing ) befor my shampoo!!! I love love love comming in to calista Dayna always does a great job!!! It took me a long time to find someone who can make me look so amazing! My cut and color is beautiful!!!!! THANKS!!!!! more

Be careful if you go to Calista. You may be bounced from stylist to assistant to someone else. There is little continuity. No doubt they have a few talented stylists but their follow through and attention to detail is appalling, especially for a "high end" salon. I will never return. more

After reading about this salon, and hearing good things, I tried it for a color, conditioning treatment and blowdry. To my disappointment, I was given way too many highlights ( when I really wanted lowlights since I am blonde and wanted to go darker. The stylist assured me highlights would give me the same effect. I was given much too many highlights and ended up with a color that did not flatter my skintone. Additionally, the blowdry consisted of hair flying in ever direction - not the "styled" blowdry I expect , or can do on my own. I will never go back. I didn't call the salon, because I know they have the same stylist "fix" the hair and I would never let the stylist touch my hair again. Make sure you know what stylist you get before you make an appointment - while I am sure some are good, not all of them are. Pros: parking Cons: poor stylist, blowdry and color more

I go to Calista's all the time for my hair cuts and color, updos, and eyebrow waxing. I also go there occassionaly for manicures and pedicures. For the past four or five years I have gone there, I have never left there unhappy. I have the best stylist and waxist ever and the atmosphere is awesome. Depending on what you have done, it can be a bit pricey (I'm a college student) but it is very worth it. My only complaint is that I have grown too attached to my stylists and have to wait for my breaks from school to come home to get my hair done! Pros: open 7 days a week more
