This place is my favorite Italian restaurant! The pizza is excellent and the dinner options are as well! I recently had one of the specials, the Osso Bucco Milanese, and it was wonderful. It is served over a risotto with saffron sauce and was very tasty. Everything I've had here has been homemade and delicious. The service is also wonderful and the environment is friendly and inviting. Definitely recommend this place to anyone, families, couples, etc. :) more

Bad Food, Bad Customer Service!! 6/27/2011

We went with another couple and planned on spending a decent amount of money so I wasn't really concerned with the slightly elevated prices! I decided to order the Surf and Turf special, I usually love to get this, I guess I should know better than to order it at an Italian Restaurant, but if you are going to say you have, then know how to cook it! Anyway, needless to say, it was horrible. This is not that big of a deal, all restaurants can't get everything 100% all the time. the major problem came when, after tasting it and realizing the Filet was completely tastless, and the Lobster tail was way over cooked and too salty (probably to try and cover up the bad food!), I notified the watress who said she was sorry and would talk to the owner (J/O), he had her bring the food to him, in the other room, and supposedly he TASTED it and said it was fine!! They never even brought the plate back!! Then proceeded to try and charge me for it.... FULL PRICE!!! Was I going to pay for the owner to try my food???!?!? I""m very sorry to our watress but I was not going to pay for this food, so I deducted it out of the check, most likely her tip!! What a great owner!!! WE used to go often, obviously, we will never ba back, nor should you!! more

Thank God you are back 5/5/2010

My wife and I love the Pizza and the Italian Hoagies are actually made with italian lunch meats and sharp Provolone cheese. The atmosphere to me is quaint and unpretentious. Pros: Service and substance Cons: Were closed due to post fire renovations more

Authentic Southern Italian 4/14/2009

The food is NOT Italian production. Homemade bread, gnocchi, many other pasta dishes. The atmosphere reminds me of being in Italy with great food as the focus of attention. The owner visits with his customers and is constantly aware of their needs and satisfaction. The dining area is small, but I would rather pay for an excellent meal, bring my own wine and enjoy!! The bread is AWESOME!!! Pros: Great Food Cons: Small dining area more

another unhappy customer 2/22/2009

the food is usually good, but not for the downtown prices they charge. especially when you decide to eat there in that dirty little dinning room, you find yourself asking why are the prices so high? on top of that when you dine in the creepy owner sits at his table and stares at you while you eat! i find that to be unprofessional. if you want over priced italian food and enjoy being stared at then this is your place! its a shame because the food is good. there are just too many turn offs for me to go back. more

Don't bother 8/28/2008

The Subject says it all. The food is ok and there is no atmosphere. It's cramped and along with all this, it's pretty pricy. Take my advice, you could go to a Olive Garden and do much better. And that's not saying much. Pros: Foods just OK Cons: Everything else more

unhappy customer 5/9/2008

Let me start with -the food is delicious - not one complaint about the food. We ordered take out 1 time and were completely satisfied. We told friends about it and decided to eat in with serveral of them. We ordered the same things we ordered for take out only to find at the end of the dining that they charge more money for eating in than taking out. Just the pizza's were $3.00 more for eating in. Most places are raising their prices due to flour costs - but to charge more for eating in than taking out is rediculous. And if they are going to do this customers should be advised ahead of time. They also charge for each refill. The waitress asked us if we wanted a refill. We did not ask her for it. We were not told that refills were not free. Again, this would have been fine if we would have known ahead of time. The food is fine, but when you feel like you were taken advantage of - why return at all? Is a little bit of honesty too much to ask? There are plenty of great pizza places around! They lost 6 six customers today!!! more

Best Real Pizza! Extremely Friendly Staff, Charming and Romantic Atmosphere 7/13/2006

As many in this area, I've eaten my shares of pizza over the course of my life, including ""real"" pizza while visiting Italy, and very few restaurants around here can even compare to the heavenly taste of a ""real"" Italian Pizza, Calabrisella is one of these few gems here in the area. The pizza is fresh, crisp, with the perfect blend of ingredients to make a wonderfully tasting sauce (not ""too"" anything), and the perfect amount of cheese. They are baked to perfection everytime! As with any good food, it is best when you eat it in their tiny, quaint yet clean and romantic restaurant, where the staff are always friendly, attentive and give you your food when it's hot. \r \r When you are done eating, you feel great and satisfied with no lingering ingredient or spice leaving a malodorous trail. You will not feel stuffed like a big dough ball, so thirsty you want to drink the Dellaware River!, or have to take a million antacids as most pizza's leave you feeling.\r \r I've lived in the area for many many years, and it was not until recently that I made such a wonderful discovery. My very busy life never allowed me to slow down and look around at the gems right here in my own backyard! It comes to show you that it is important to stop and spell the roses (or the Pizza in this case) every once in a while or you'll miss out on some pretty terrific things! Pros: Everything is great Cons: not enough parking; dinning room could be larger to accomodate everyone wanting to enjoy dinner there more
