Unimpressive!!! 9/7/2011

I decided to try something different for my husband's birthday dinner this year and I had heard good things about Cajun Steamer. Apparently the people who told me those good things hate me. The only thing we found to be redeemable about the whole night was the drinks specials (which we can get elsewhere and accompanying better food). The ""cajun"" food was bland and cold when it arrived at our table. The waitress was unattentive and we had to flag her down in order to get our check. Overall it was a terrible experience. I am so upset I wasted a special event evening on this place! more

Excellent! 8/18/2011

I'm not sure why the reviews on here are so bad, but that was not my experience. Maybe they've done some work on staffing, because everyone was friendly when I went. \r \r The food was PHENOMENAL. Fried dill pickles were the best I've ever had. I had the Melvin's Blackened Chicken, which was blackened chicken (I guess that part is obvious :) with caramelized onions, bacon, and some kind of balsamic glaze over mashed potatoes. It was amazing. For dessert, my family and I shared the bread pudding and beignets. The place was packed, but we still got good service! Hope to go back soon. more

fun for me!!!! 11/23/2010

what a fun place for all people. i went in the other day and just had a blast. the atmosphere was super laid back, and mellow. the servers were a lot of fun and had conversation with me. i had the shrimp and tilapia rockafeller. AMAZING!! i've noticed the other reviews and i have to completely disagree with them, that was not my experience. i suggest anyone to go and enjoy themselves. they made me feel at home,a place where i can go relax, have good company and great food. more

Trashy and overpriced 7/9/2010

not sure where they get there very filthy, inexperienced and rude staff but this place sure doesn't fit in franklin..the wealthiest county now has the dirtest restaurant in franklin. beware what you eat, nothing is kept at appropriate temps and you are sure to get food poison. ask my cousin after his second and last visit to this place..my daugther found a bug in her food and we showed the Mgr and his response was bugs are in every restaurant.. OMG Cons: staff, dirty restaurant and terrible food more

If you like bad food and scantily clad women, you'll like it 6/29/2010

I went here with my mother and sister this afternoon, after debating for a good 15 minutes on where to go because Chuy's was packed (as usual). From the moment we went in the place, it felt like I was not welcome. The ladies working there are dressed like Hooter's rejects and are only nice to older men. I ordered the grilled shrimp po-boy and the corn/crab chowder. The chowder was ok, but a little too sweet. Once I got the sandwich, the shrimp overwhelmed it, slopping out of the sides. I still decided to give it a try. It was nasty. The shrimp was too salty and cold. The bread was bland. It was slippery as well. I only had a bite of the sandwich, then put it down. I explained politely that I just didn't like the flavor to the waitress. Later, she gave me the dirtiest look as if I did something wrong. She still charged us for the sandwich. If you are considering going here, don't go unless you want to be treated poorly. Pros: nothing Cons: bad service, bad food, unwelcoming atmosphere more

Horrible. 6/27/2010

Horrible. We've been there a few times over the past couple of years, but they have really lost it. I should have known when we arrived at noon on a Sunday and the place was deserted. The food is extremely overpriced, and it tasted horrible. The gumbo was inedible, and the fried shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. The only thing edible was the popcorn shrimp from the kid's menu. And I'm fairly certain our waitress was hungover. I went there for the oysters, and of course they were out. Except there were oysters in the gumbo, which proves it is a mix. DO NOT GO THERE. Go to Bonefish instead. Pros: Kid's popcorn shrimp Cons: everything else more
