First, and let's be perfectly clear about this, the service can be chaotic and disorganized. Don't go hungry and don't go expecting stellar service, though some waiters are better than others. Timothy, for instance, is very nice.
The best way to enjoy Stella is to be in good company, drinking good wine--be with the person you could be happy talking to while possibly waiting over an hour just for your appetizers. Just relax and enjoy the ambiance--the courtyard is quite charming.
I'd give the food a solid B. Especially recommended is the pecan encrusted goat cheese salad with fresh pears--very tasty. Stay away from green pea side--they're cold and hard. The steaks are delicious and the wine list is extensive.
Bon Appetit!
Pros: charming courtyard, tasty french food, extensive wine list
Cons: slow service, no substitutions
