Cafe Silvestre's menu and food remind some folks of La Frontera and La Puenta because those two are later offshoots from Cafe Silvestre, having basically taken the same concept and recipes years ago from Gloria Ruiz, who founded Cafe Silvestre back in 1976.
It is Gloria's fabulous original recipes which have driven all three groups, but hers remains THE BEST. Her chile verde was, is and always will be the very best you will find anywhere. Same goes for her tamales with mole, her enchiladas and her rellenos!
