Good For Smaller Parties 10/14/2002

My brother and I had our birthday party here with about 15 friends. I think it was a nice place to have a party, but our seating arrangement was a bit cramped, and the bill was crazy to figure out. The people doing the seating didn't seem to be well organized. It took them a while to get us seated, even though we had confirmed our reservation several times. The prices of the entrees are reasonable, but they really get you on the beverages-- alcoholic and non. A regular coffee was $4.50. The food was really good though, and the presentation was nice as well. Also, there was only one main server working our table, which seemed to make it difficult for him as well as us! I would definitely go back, but with just a few friends. Pros: Great ambience, Nice patio Cons: Pricier than expected more

al fresco at its best 10/7/2002

Great patio a couple floors above the Old Town bustle allows one to enjoy the crowds without having to eat in front of them. Terrific food (esp. the butternut squash) and service (My favorite server is Sandi). Wine prices are more than fair, so order two bottles! Pros: low wine prices, beautiful patio more

Great Food!!! 9/22/2002

Went on a busy Saturday night for my 2nd anniversary. The waiters were great...great food, at a reasonable price...I would recommend this to anyone...also, when making reservations, try to have a table in the patio...it's the best...plus, wine and drinks were excellent. more

I rather eat a frozen dinner 9/19/2002

One of my girlfriends decided to have her birthday there. Till this day I still wonder why. Let me start by saying it's a cute cafe. That's where it ends. The waitress didn't want to be there she was RUDE. The busboy ended up bringing our food over. As for the food I usually never reach for the salt but I did. The shrimp scampi was bland, the salmon was dry, hummous was not creamy enough. They combine italian food with mediterranean food. It just does not work!!! more

Romance is in the air... 8/27/2002

Santorini has fantastic ambience--outside on the patio is intimate and romantic, but inside isn't too shabby. The hardwood floor and small space make you feel like you're eating in somone's really cool loft apartment. I love the caprese salad (beefsteak tomatoes with fresh mozzarella drizzled with olive oil and balsamic viniagrette) and the bowtie pasta with grilled chicken in a creamy/pesto sauce. The risotto is great as well, creamy and tender. more

From what I've been told, Cafe Santorini changed hands a few years back. That was the only explaination I could come up with for the terrible service I experienced the last TWO times I've gone for dinner(the second time was the second chance I give to restaurants that have been great in the past). The food was great (except for the rubbery calamari) but the last time I went it took 45 minutes for our waiter to arrive at our table to take our order then another 45 to get our appetizers. After quietly mentioning to the co-owner that our entrees never even showed up, he asked us to leave. It was a nightmare and I would never go back. Pros: Great food Cons: crowded, slow service, rude employees more

A relaxing romantic atmosphere to lunch in or dine. Great place for dates, family gatherings, or special events. Not to mention their dinner entrees, its the best mediterranean food I've ever had. more

I'm sorry about the heading but if I give this restaurant the rating it deserves all y'all people looking for an outstanding mediterranean restaurant are all going to show up here. Then I'd probably have to wait to sit out on the balcony which is the place to eat, especially during the summer. Then you're going to bring your friends and there's going to be a line of people waiting to get in.... you won't like this food, please go somewhere else. A superb dining expereince! 6/30/2002

This locale is found next to a charming plaza surrounded by retail and food establishments in the heart of Old Town Pasadena. The restuarant has a outdoor balcony which is perfect for a romantic and breezey dining experience. This outdoor experience does not discount the interior ambience which is a bit noisy. The food is mediocre but so are the prices. more

Great food & atmosphere 6/4/2002

Serving up a mixed menu of Mediterranean food this place has a wide variety of dishes to choose from. I had a pasta dish with shrimp which was excellent. Th feel and decor of the place matches it's theme. The only little ding was how long the server took between taking our order and making sure we had full drinks-they were probably short staffed! Overall though, a great place to take a group or a date! more

Island Hopping 5/23/2002

I've been going to Cafe Santorini for years now, I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience. The food is always top notch, the service like any other restaurant can be slow during peak hours. Expect to wait, especially on weekends. If you can, try and get a table on the patio, the view of One Colorado is great. This place is a real hidden treasure in a city full of restaurants. A must try!! more

Upscale Upstairs 5/20/2002

I ate at Cafe Santorini with a large party on a chilly night. Though we were outside (to experience the patio), heaters kept us warm, and it would have been worth braving the cold for the food -- which was as good as the portions were generous. Greek and Mediterranean delicacies completely covered our table -- the lamb and anything involving seafood were among the choicest dishes, but it was indeed hard to choose. And even with a nip in the air, the patio was delightful. more

The patio is the place to be at the Santorini, and the baba ghanoush to start. In summer, it's balmy and breezy; in winter, heaters and a cover keep patrons warm. The Santorini serves Greek and Meditarranean cuisine, lamb and seafood are specialties. more
