tasty 3/2/2006

This warm little cafe in Pioneer Square is a tasty treat. They do excellent paninis (prosciutto, veggies, etc) and great salads. Service is efficient and friendly. They do some dinners now. Lunch is their staple. Good to pick up a sandwich and hear the concerts in Occidental Sq in the summer. more

Great Turkish food, friendly service 1/21/2006

I really like Cafe Paloma, we had their Hummus and Sarma as appetizers - both were excellent. For the main dish I had the Kofte my wife tried the Chicken Bohca both were beautifully prepared and very tasty. Mainly a lunch restaurant but they are open for dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays - I think there is live music on Thursday nights. I would recommend calling before going in. more

Quirky but excellent panini sandwiches 12/19/2005

I love this place for my longer lunch days. Located in wonderful Pioneer Square, this is a fairly small joint (used to be very small!) but they have since expanded. Their main specialty is "Greek" food, as such they have the grape leaf things, and baklava. While their baklava is amazing (seriously), my favorite is the Gorgonzola and Spinach panini. The quality is consistently good, with fresh bread and great cheese. The sandwiches almost never fall apart, and always taste good. You can sometimes even spot the owner (late 40s Mediterranean looking guy) milling about. He is very friendly, as such this place has a following I've noticed. TIP: Get the baklava to go, and stroll south on 1st ave during your lunch hour eating it. It brings a certain sense of appreciation for the area, and for good food. Very understated and worth a visit! more
