Best

I work next door to their place and have lunch there up to 3 times a week, I love their salads, big enough for two, but that I eat all by myself ;) If you want to indulge yourself...

Worst

How disappointing!!! we used to go in this place every single sunday with some friends of mine from the church. After some bad sundays, enough is enough, we just won t go back in ...

Great food, intimate ambiance 7/29/2007

Waouwwww!!!! I've just read the previous reviews and I'm really surprised... I had a really nice time in this place. I dined there last saturday night with my fiance; we booked on opentable ; and we had the most romantic night ever. There was an artist who was singing the old French classics, it was beautiful! Not too loud, just perfect. We had the escargots- simply delicious- the fish special -the sauce was unbelievable- and the filet mignon - tender. We shared a dessert crepe, which was huge and delicious, it reminded me of Paris. I recommend this place, I will go back there. Pros: Romantic ambiance Cons: open only 4 nights more

No, No, No. 7/21/2007

We arrived in time for our reservation and were seated promptly. Our waiter came and explained the special, which is what I wanted right off the bat. The downfall was that wasn't what my boyfriend wanted but since I really wanted it and the special was for two people he agreed. First course was Nicoise salad something fishy and bland and room temperature accompanied with artificial tasting citrusy oil. Terrible. Second was pasta. I know how to cook, I am a culinary school graduate so I know for a fact that pasta only congeals into a cold disgusting lump when it has been sitting out for awhile. This was exactly what we got. A congealed lump of flavored pasta coated in a low quality olive oil. Third was crepe It came huge and this excited us because it smelled good. First bite was pure fat. I think I actually took it right out of my mouth. By the time I got to my third bite I passed the rest to my boyfriend who was still hungry and very angry about the lousy food. The dining room is VERY noisy with thier band (not music but Noise). We were sitting in a secluded corner in the room and still had to lean over to hear each other. The bill was well over $80 and was the WORST waste of money (in a California restaurant, the other was for Bobby Flay's restaurant in NYC). We left feeling very cheated and very disappointed. I urge everyone to NOT believe the website of this place. Pros: Parking in the back Cons: Food, Noisy more

THE WORST FRENCH RESTAURANT EVER 7/18/2007

I choose a French restaurant because it had to be good no? WRONG. None of the employes were smiling to us, the worst was the busboy, you can tell that he do not like the job there. Ok we are not senior because I thinks all the patrons were over 60s, but can we have some service at our table Please. The food was ok, I had a crepe with chicken a way too much cheese, I couldn t finsh it, the Tuna salad of my friend was good but the Mussels were too salty, we told to the funny busboy who never changed it and no one asked why our plates were almost full. Ok ready for the worst part, when I went to the bathroom at the end of my meal, I saw the chef pick up some FOOD FROM THE FLOOR and put it back into the pan, IT WAS DISGUSTING. If only a Health inspector was there he will close this place right away. I didn t say anything but I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Terrible experience. Pros: Beverly Hills Cons: DIRTY, BAD SERVICE more

Okay Bistro on Little Santa Monica in Beverly Hills 4/3/2007

When we got here at 6 pm, we were the only ones here. The waiter was nice, and the open kitchen is hidden behind a counter. The atmosphere is decent, filled with rows of French Bistro tables and fake Mona Lisa paintings hanging everywhere. There is a small accordeon band that entertains and sells their CDs at the same time. The salad was good, big portion, but great dressing, the crepe was more like a calzone, a bit overstuffed with paperthin crepe surrounding it. Not bad. One of the more affordable restaurants in this ritzy area. Pros: Salad Dressing, Cafe Mocha, French accents, Nice server more

Great lunch, tasty and reasonnably priced 12/26/2006

I work next door to their place and have lunch there up to 3 times a week, I love their salads, big enough for two, but that I eat all by myself ;) If you want to indulge yourself, try their French fries too (definitely the best in the neighborhood) and their Napoli panini, not French but SO good. Service is good. They also deliver and are pretty fast. I definitely recommend that place. Pros: variety of salads and sandwiches more

Is it a joke??? 12/19/2006

We ordered some sandwiches fand salads from them, it tooks an hour delivery, then the food was really salty and the salad was a way too old. Half of the people in the company complained about the quality of the order. A review wrote that it s cute that the delivery man is french, ok and... I m not looking for a date but some good food for my company and it was absolutely not. I finally called them because my boss wanted his money back they took my number but never called me back. Do not do the same mistake like us and find a restaurant who wants to stay in this business. more

Parfait! 11/10/2006

I am a self-proclaimed Francophile and my friend told me she just HAD to take me here. It was a fantastic night! The ambience was great! Very quaint yet chic at the same time. We ordered some coffee and dessert, and it was simply perfect. The service was fantastic, we didn't feel rushed at all, and the food was terrific! We cannot wait to come back here another weekend!! :) Merci beaucoup! more

Best Lunch for the Money 11/7/2006

I worked in Beverly Hills, and used to order from this place frequently. They were always polite, on-time, and pleasant. If you work in a certain radius around their restaurant, they would deliver the food. They always had the cutest, french delivery guys. That by itself, me being female, was a delight. But to top it off they have great lunch specials....enough food for two people for under $11.00. The food is absolutely delicious. I miss working in Beverly Hills, just for that reason. Pros: Service, Food, and Fantastic delivery Boys Cons: wish they had a location in Brentwood more

Good food 11/5/2006

The food here is great. The fries and tuna sandwiches are awesome. Cute, quaint place for lunch. The service is good and you really feel like you are in Paris. more

As good for breakfast as for dinner 9/16/2006

I have to disagree with "zerocalorie" cause I first tried Cafe Marly for dinner, and my husband and I loved it so much that we came back the day after (on Sunday) for brunch and we liked it just as much. The hostess greeted us warmly and welcomed us back, the scrambled eggs were perfect, and the fruits very fresh. We live in the neighbourhood and we now dine there quite frequently, and still enjoy it a lot. Pros: good food more

How disappointing!!!! 9/3/2006

How disappointing!!! we used to go in this place every single sunday with some friends of mine from the church. After some bad sundays, enough is enough, we just won t go back in this place where people treat you with no respect. The ambience is not the same and the quality of food became ridiculous. The interior of the restaurant is dark and dingy but we liked to go there because the service and the food were good, what s happened there?? We found another cafe and will tell to our friends from church to do the same because you do not deserve them. more

Love the live music! 8/24/2006

I first went to Café Marly to listen to my friend, Cynthia Speers who performs there every other Friday nights and I liked it so much that I tried it the other nights, all the artists are great and the food simply delicious. I wanted to let all my friends know about it. I went to their Melrose location too-no music- too bad... But the atmosphere is right. more

Great panini and salads. free delivery 8/24/2006

I used to have lunch at Café Marly 2 or three times a week-my office is right down the street. But they are sometimes so busy-understandable view the quality of the food- that I tried their delivery service. Very efficient, free, and most of the time delivered by a very cute young man;)) Pros: free delivery. great lunch place Cons: very popular, so very busy. Better to reserve more

Excellent service! And great crepes... 7/26/2006

I'm a regular at Nails 2000 in Beverly Hills and I always pass by the French place next door without taking time to step in. Well... I wish I had come in earlier. I had the most amazing Nutella crepe ever, much better than at the farmer's market, and the sevice was excellent. I even think I'm going to book them for a crepe party at my place for my next birthday. Check them out! Pros: great service, nice decor, convenient location more

Amazing! 7/24/2006

I attended a party my French friends threw at Cafe Marly (the one off Melrose) last year. I figure if the French people who live in LA think it's the best French restaurant in town, it must be. Ever since then I've been going there. Truly one of the best kept secrets in Los Angeles. more

Maybe it wasn t a good night? 7/18/2006

A friend of mine gave me this address so I went there, the food and service was just ok and the crowd was really old (60 and over). Maybe it wasn t a good night ? more

A good place for a great price 6/6/2006

This was a good place, and I really enjoyed the entire experience, the wait staff was very helpful in suggesting items more

My cozy dinner spot 4/27/2006

My fiance and I are dinning at Cafe Marly Beverly Hills almost twice a month. The ambiance is charming and romantic. We really enjoy their artist venues, especially Betsy Bogart and Sylvie. The food is always SO tasty that I have never been disappointed. The service is very friendly (the waitress welcomes us as if we were old friends!). That's great to feel that much like at home! Highly recommended. Pros: live music, Excellent food, good service Cons: close early more

French attitude... 4/3/2006

We went in this restaurant for dinner; the food wasn t good at all, mussels were really too salty and the ribeye was cooked well done instead of medium. On top of it when we asked some water, the waitress had an attitude (I m sorry there are some people who don t want to drink more than 2 glass of wine, are we bad customers????). Now I understand why the restaurant was empty... Pros: parking Cons: food, staff more

Disappointing Food and Service. 3/3/2006

This place was a huge disappointing. First it was so dark that we couldn t see what was in the menu, then we thought that we had dinner in a retirement house (I never felt so young in my life and I m not young at all). The food was starchy and undercooked but the waitress never knew that because she never came back by our table to see if we liked (or in our case disliked) our dishes; she just didn t care at all. We won t recommend this place. Pros: location Cons: staff, food, dark more
