Beautiful restaurant.... 10/24/2005

I went to Cafe Lily a few days ago and I had an amazing time. We walked in a little before closing time and they welcomed us in. The lamb is AMAZING!! The ambience is very romantic. There is even a little room--I like to call it the blue room, that is so romantic and secluded from the rest of the restaurant in a little nook. Perfect for a night out with that someone special. I don't know where that review by mamac was coming from; perhaps they were at the wrong restaurant, or perhaps they misheard what was said and to whom. My wife and I have been going to Cafe Lily for years and have never experienced anything but the warmest of welcomes from the owner and all of the employees there. They are extremely accomodating even during the busiest of hours. We have personally witnessed the owner bending over backwards to make sure everybody in the place is comfortable. The food is always consistently the best you'll find in the Decatur area. I only wish I had written sooner to praise this quaint little spot. Could I have a Table...PLEASE?? 2/12/2005

Sunday Brunch, six tables seated in the restaurant. Could not get the host to take our name or even ask how many in your party? UNTIL the host stand was swamped, then a group that came in after my husband and I; hollered over our heads to the host saying they had a reservation for four. And were immediately seated, so again we turned to host, ""table for two"" ignored again while another party came in, we left. While the host told new party ""we could go to hell, he did not want to seat us anyway"". by the way, WE HEARD THAT! We can Hear, even if you cannot hear ""table for two"" Pros: Restaurant empty, lots of parking Cons: could not get seated, "cursed at by host or, manager. more

Absolutely wonderful! 9/22/2004

We went to Cafe Lily upon recommendation from friends for a special night out and it was fabulous. The service was impeccable and the food was out of this world. The salmon appetizer was so good, I'm going back for more. And the buttersquash ravioli was out of this world. Highly recommended for a date or for small groups. Just wonderful. As another reviewer said, I'm like family there! Angelo is wonderful to my wife & I each time we go. The food, atmosphere & service are beyond great! And if you are on a diet like I am, ask Angelo for help and they'll cook to order! And don't forget to ask for wine advice. We've learned so much from them. more

This is consistently one of my favourite places in town. I recommend this place more than any other restaurant, for almost any occasion - birthdays, dates, special events, casual nights out, whatever. I am compelled to get the mussels with spicy broth every time. I rarely get to dessert, I so stuff myself, but when I do, it's always a delight. At least, they make me feel like I am! From off-the-list wine selections to the EXCELLENT service, I would (and do) recommend this place to anyone with good taste. The nightly specials make it difficult for me to decide to get my faves from the menu. The filet (with gorgonzola) is SO much better than Spago's (sorry Wolfgang)! Consistently Delicious 10/10/2002

Cafe Lily is the most consistent restaurant I've been to in Decatur. The food is always delicious, the staff always friendly and attentive. I am always torn between trying new things and falling back on my favorite - the always amazing Pinchitos - but I've never been disappointed. more

Consistantly the best 8/29/2002

After dozens of visits to Cafe Lily, I've still never had anything less than a perfect meal. Nice but not pretentious, the emphasis here is on the food with great attention to detail. Wonderful use of taste combinations; always a good meal reasonably priced. Anothony is a wonderful chef with a great palate, emphasising taste over fluff and decoration. If you don't see your favorite wine on the list, ask they usually have it. Too many favorites to list. The lamb is amazing. more
