Authentic and Delicious 6/23/2010

Cafe Piazza Dolce is a hidden jewel in Winchester, MA, just outside of Boston. It is cozy and authentic and everyone is friendly and outgoing. The staff and restaurant give off the feeling of being with family. The new outside patio is gorgeous with a beautiful wooden gazebo. The food is to die for--the pasta, pizza and salads are cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and it is not overly expensive. I would highly recommend Cafe Dolce to anyone who is craving a delicious italian meal. Pros: Great food, wait staff and atmosphere more

Is this place for Real?? 6/22/2010

Let me just start out by saying, I live in Boston, so it takes a lot to get me to leave the beloved North End and make the trek to Winchester. I heard about this gem from a friend, its a charming restaurant with an amazing outdoor patio. If you want authentic Italian, this is the place to go. The dishes are not only delicious, but they are extremely generous. As long as your in the mood for Italian, you cant go wrong, their pizza is amazing, their entrees will blow your mind, they always have some sort of unique special that i have never seen before, but of course i have to try it, and don't get me started on desert, its like traveling to Italy! To top everything off, their waitstaff is very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and considering the portions, the prices are very reasonable. If i cant make up my mind on what to get, they have never steered me wrong. So take it from someone who grew up eating in the North End, the best Italian that i have tried thus far is north of the city, not in it! Pros: Great Gazebo, Friendly people, Amazing Food and Atmosphere Cons: Not enough days in the week to eat there! more

The NEW cafe Dolce 6/22/2010

Let me begin my saying this is a new review. This review is in order because Cafe Dolce has grown so much since 2008, and even 2009. The Gazebo is beatiful, the staff is OUTSTANDING , and the food is amazing. This place has grown and matured so much. I was there on a tuesday night and they were FULLY staffed. I walked in and was greeted my an adorable hostess who brought me to my table. I was then broght over a glass of water from (im assuming, since i saw her cleaning and setting back up tables) a busser. Then my very personable, and knowledgeable waitress who recommended her favorite dishes and appetizers. Then when my food came out, it was brought out by a bartender. I did not wait to long for my pasta but it wasnt 7 minutres either. I wouldnt excpect to be since i know my food is cooked to order, and fresh. Then at the end of my meal my coffee was delivered by a new face from the cafe down stairs. That seems pretty staffed to me. THe gazebo is inviting and I cant stop coming back...Congrats Alessandra and Enzo!! Pros: Fresh, fresh, fresh more

If your looking for authentic Italian food this is the place to go. 8/31/2008

This place is great! If you are looking for authentic Italian food this is the place to go. The brick oven pizza and family style dinners are to die for! We went with a party of six and the portions were huge. We all left with very full and happy stomachs. The staff was very atttentive even though the place was packed. I am not sure what the previous reviewer stated regarding highchairs because I was pleasantly surprised that they had few in use including one for my little girl. Can't wait to go back. Great place to bring a group. Go family style you will feel like your in Italy. Pros: Excellent Brick Oven Pizza Cons: Could be a wait on a busy night more

Sad 8/22/2008

This place is not good at all,\r Under staff, an order takes for ever. Pastries often times are OLD, very hard. I really do not recommend it, you way better ordering pizza from the supermarket. Besides I find it overprice for what you get, specially the pastas. I went with my baby and they did not have a high chair, it was quite uncomfortable. more
