This was the first dinner out that my girl and I had after relocationg to Santa Cruz from NYC. While the exterior of this restaurant may be a bit plain, there was nothing about the food at Cafe Cruz that was ordinary. Extraordinary is more accurate. We were absolutely wowed by our entree: a combination of tender rotisserie chicken, crab cake, and a succulent pork chop. This dish would have no problem being on Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill menu on 5th Avenue in the big Apple. It was a weekend, and the place was a bit on the noisy side, but the service was warm, friendly, and attentive.
No doubt, we're goin' back to this place.
