Best French Pastries 2/18/2011

The French bakery that we use for special occasions closed on us. We were really upset. Then within an hour we found this unassuming pastry house. Yes, It might be a little costly for pastries, but if you have an appetite for great cheesecake and French pastries, then it doesn't matter. They saved our day! more

DO NOT GO THERE 2/16/2009

Ordered a cake in advance. A girl with broken English got the wrong date even thought my sister wrote it down for them. Cake wasn?t ready to be picked up on time. EVERYONE GOT SICK When we talked to them, the chef just didn?t care and had a attitude like oh well it wasn?t his problem nor their fault. WOW Pros: Thank god they are many more betterplaces in this area like Susie cakes or Let them eat cake Cons: Language barrier, bat attitude, more

The only place to go for dessert 11/10/2006

This place is probably the best patisserie (or dessert-only restaurant) I have ever been to in Orange County and perhaps the Greater Los Angeles area. Chef/Owner Tomi Harase and the entire staff are very friendly and welcoming. I have become a regular and both Tomi and his wife still recognized me after not having gone for over 2 months. The location is a tad irregular, in a strip mall where you necessarily wouldn't think of having a quaint little patisserie. I literally have had almost everything on their menu, though I have yet to try their gelato. I highly recommend the Miroir and the T Maisson. If you have the time, get your dessert there and they bring your dessert presented as if you had gotten it at a restaurant, with sauces and garnishes and all. A nice detail about the place itself is that it has an angled mirror afixed to the ceiling so you can look ""down"" into their work area. Pros: parking, service, friendly staff more

More yummy places on 17th Street 9/22/2006

Late night (well I'm talking in Behind the Orange Curtain terms 9PM is pretty good) dessert place. So far all the desserts I have ordered were yummy, that one bite is just not enough, you crave for another. I really like how Japanese style French desserts are prepared meaning that theyre not overly sweet, its just a nice balance. They don't really have a menu since it's seasonal. Forget the hype with Sprinkles; this is how desserts should be made. On the pricey side but I feel like I at least get my moneys worth. They also serve gelato and have various Asian flavors like Green Tea, Lychee and Yuzu. Pros: Clean and you can watch the chef Cons: Can be on the pricey side more
