Best

In my previous review, I talked about how bad the service was. Boy, how things can change! I submitted a similar review on the restaurant's website because I felt they had a right...

Worst

I have eaten there a few times but the last time, (Oct 8, 2011) may be my last.\r \r The service was slow and it seemed as if the waiter was doing us a favor by taking our order...

Bad Experience 10/9/2011

I have eaten there a few times but the last time, (Oct 8, 2011) may be my last.\r \r The service was slow and it seemed as if the waiter was doing us a favor by taking our order. He hardly spoke english and was borderline rude. \r \r The kicker is,,, the friend that I was with needed change of a twenty dollar bill and gave it to the waiter. When the waiter returned he gave her change for a $10 and insisted that was what was given him. LIAR ! The owner got involved and seemed not to care. \r \r Instead of making a big scene we left and hence this review and every other review I will write besides never gettingmy business again or any of my friends business as well. It will cost them a lot more than $10 for that.\r \r Robert G more

when does rude service trump good food? 4/7/2009

It pains me to write this because I enjoy their food, but at a certain threshold rudeness pushes even loyal customers away from a favorite eatery... for a restaurant that is BYOB, it seems odd to me that a family who are regulars, who happen to have a six-year-old who specifically requested that restaurant for her special birthday dinner, are charged a $10 'cake fee' for bringing in a tiny $7 princess cake from the grocery store (they don't serve wine because they don't have a liquor license, and I am pretty sure they don't make princess cakes for 6-year-olds)... if that is their policy, that's fine, but when asked about it, the above-mentioned threshold that was crossed occurred when an employee took out a $10 bill from the register and waved it in the face of the mother. That is just bushleague, and that is why Cafe Amore is losing my business and why all of our friends will hear about this poor showing... sorry Cafe Amore, but you have to earn customer loyalty. Pros: BYOB and good food Cons: bad attitudes more

Meeting expectations 8/3/2008

In my previous review, I talked about how bad the service was. Boy, how things can change! I submitted a similar review on the restaurant's website because I felt they had a right to know about my experience. What I didn't expect was an email back from Denis, one of the owners. He was very apologetic and told me that my review actually was a wake-up call. He even said that he printed out my review and read it out loud to all the employees. He invited my wife and I to the restaurant so that he may give us a full apology in person. I'm pleased to say that our last visit was exceptional. The service was much better and, as a bonus, Denis offered us a free meal. Even then we still tipped the waitress really well (a $20 bill). Denis was very warm and friendly and it's obvious that he's passionate and really cares about his restaurants. Every business makes mistakes and I believe that every business is entitled to a second chance it they really want it. It's obvious that Cafe Amore really wants the business. So give them a chance. And if there's something you don't like, don't hesitate to let Denis know. Feedback is important and the folks at Cafe Amore are all ears. :) Pros: Good food. Good ambience. Much improved service Cons: Wish I had spoke to the owner sooner. more

Rude, rude, RUDE customer service! 1/7/2008

Our group of bowling seniors usually goes here for our annual Christmas dinner, but no more. Last year, they just started serving salads, despite no one asking for one, so we all presumed the salads came with the meal. Wrong. Everyone got dinged on their tab. So this year, we gave them a specific list of who did/did not want salad, but out they come again, salads to everyone. You had to chase the manager down, and literally MAKE her take your salad back. Then she starts whining how everyone just wants to bring in their own bottle and drink, not eat anything -don't know where that came from, we were ALL buying our meal. Just not a salad for everybody (most of us are on pretty strict limited incomes). Then she tries to bargain with us (""$1.50? $1.25? $1? Ok, 75 cents!""). She even chewed a couple of us out, until one guy told her, ""I don't WANT your SERMON, and I don't WANT your SALAD, either - just take it away!"" I know a few too timid to push the subject, so they kept - and paid for - an item they hadn't budgeted in, so that broad could make another, what, $70-$90, by cheating a bunch of old folks? Rude, rude, RUDE, just beyond belief. Never again. Pros: The bad was SO bad, it eclipsed anything good. Cons: They will serve you unordered items to pump up your bill. more

Good food and customer service 12/14/2007

This is family-owned and run neighborhood eatery that serves up good quality Italian food. The family that owns this place is very friendly, and always attentive to customers. It's also BYOB so you can bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your dinner. I'd recommend this place to anyone who likes authentic Italian food and friendly customer service! Pros: Friendly customer service, good food more
